Mabel's POV

Despite the fact that the night hadn't faded and the sun hadn't risen, there was a warm buttery feeling in my stomach. For a strange reason, I was so excited to be by Jason for the rest of today.

With my arms folded, a warm smile on my face, I looked out the window, getting a nice view of the hospital park, driveway and walkway, the trees made it look like a meadow. Pulling the blind up further, the bright rays of the sun streamed into the room.

Leaping to Jason's side, I dropped my pink bag on the shelf. Lowering myself, I placed a soft lasting kiss on his cheek.

"Good morning my love." I whispered, hoping he had heard me.  "I tried my best to get a good night rest and then I showered and dressed up in bright colours today." I chuckled.

Looking down at myself, I smiled at my choice of color. I had painted myself pink from head to toe - except my hair of course. A pink tank top, pink shrug, pink sweatpants and pink sneakers.

Turning to my side, I dragged the wooden stool closer to the bed and took a seat. Staring at his pale face, I listened to Jason's heartbeat from the monitor, waiting for him to make a move but he stilled, sleeping peacefully.

With a deep sigh, I whipped my head to the counter and grabbed my laptop from the bag. Placing the laptop on my thighs, lifting the lid, I turned it on and began working immediately, tapping on the keys from time to time. From time to time I received work related calls, taking down notes and reviewing documents.

My eyes watched the clock, time was flying by and it was noon already. Straightening my neck, I yawned tiredly and placed my laptop on the countertop. Minutes later, lunch arrived and I assumed that Ada had ordered it for me. After finishing the last grain of jollof rice, I finished the whole bottle of water. Too tired to continue working, my eyes were getting heavier by the minute, sleep was calling my name.

Yawning loudly, I placed a hand over my mouth to muffle the yawn. Looking over at Jason, I decided I was going to sleep next to him, in his arms - just like our last night together.  Climbing onto the bed, I tucked myself in. With one of Jason's arms over me, my hands up on his chest, I placed my head on his chest. Finding solace, I sighed and closed my eyes to sleep.

Waking up, I itched my dizzy eyes. Peeling my lids open, I looked up at Jason through my lashes, his chest moving rhythmically with mine, heart beating against mine. I was still in his arms, safe and sound. Averting my gaze from him, I glanced at the clock on the wall, it was past six pm and only then I realized the sun had set when I looked to the window.

"I need you to wake up soon Jason, I know you are still around, but I want to see you smile, hear you laugh, I want to hold my hand and wrap your arms around me when I sleep or when I'm cooking." Chuckling at the last part, I ran my fingers through his stubble.

My other hand lingered on his chest, fingers tracing patterns. I placed a kiss on his neck, moving further to kiss his chest.

"I miss this, Jason." I looked up at him, waiting to hear him say that he missed me.  "I really do. I miss your hot kisses, your strong hands that sent shivers down my spine," Shutting my eyes, the memories flashed through my head like an electric surge, threatening to burst through me.  "I miss having you inside of me." I whispered, planting a soft kiss on his stubble.

The door creaked open and the sweet smell of Cherry and Rose filled the air, wafting into my nostrils. I already knew who it was.  Sniffling, I raised my head, averting it towards the direction of the door. The sound of heels tapping against the delicate marble tiles startled me.

"Good morning Mabel, how are you doing today?" Her voice was angelic, firm and resonating.

"I'm doing great." I sat up on the bed beside Jason.  "I was just watching over Jason." I chipped in.
