Mabel's POV
We sat right next to each other in the Range Rover Jeep that drove us to what was going to be my new home.
Silence, silence, silence: it was killing me.
Since last night's event we hadn't said nothing to each other. I was too embarrassed to talk and I didn't know what he was thinking.
Our souls had been joined together in marriage but we were torn apart by silence. I was still thinking if I made the wrong move yesterday, I mean; he sent me signals.
My gaze was outside the window but my thoughts were fleeting elsewhere; Not until the car came to a halt, in the driveway. I looked and it was his family.
Wtf! I'm not ready for this.
They stood at the driveway, all bearing smiles on their faces. After the driver opened the door, I alighted.
Just by seeing them, I felt lost; I confused; I was hit by reality.
I felt their stares boring holes into me; it was intense. They were so close to me, close enough that I got pulled in by one of them whom I assumed to be his little sister.
When I was released from her tight choking hug, I took a glance at my surrounding. There was a water fountain which had a statue right in the middle of it, that stood in the middle of the compound, cars were littered all over, I noticed the flowers and shrubs that beautified the compound, and a huge building that stood right in front of me; blocking me from seeing what was behind.
It is breathtaking. I guess the name richest and most eligible, oh! Former eligible bachelor does justice.
Why is his family here again?
When my gaze returned to the people in front of me, they were still smiling. I couldn't tell if it was real or fake. His mother, his sister and another lady with a girl that looked just like her.
The girl who had hugged me before noticed how uncomfortable I was and she gestured for me to follow her. I heard Jason making an explanation of me being tired from the long trip as to why I was tired, and had the eyes of a lost puppy.
"I'm Lilly, his younger sister." The teenage girl told me once she closed the door and we were inside the house.
I nodded.
"His first love too."
I laughed. This girl got jokes.
"Sadly and happily, you're his first love now." She cooed, grinning widely.
"Girl," I folded my arms and slightly rolled my eyes. "Nobody's is abybody's love." I huffed.
She started climbing the stairs. "Okay.... Looks like Honeymoon didn't go as planned."
How the fuck is the honeymoon between two strangers supposed to go?
She stopped and turned, staring at me for answers. I'm not ready to talk about anything and even if I was, it wouldn't be to a teenager I just met.
I shrugged. "It wasn't exactly great and it wasn't bad."
A look of pity crossed her face as she nodded slowly in comprehension, then continued to ascend the stairs.
"So, welcome to the sky house. This is the second floor which is basically where family stuff takes place." She gestured around us.
Everywhere was beautifully furnished with the most expensive furniture, sophisticated articrafts and the most detailed paintings. My house was nothing compared to this palace.
