We finally arrived at St.Freya High. Bronya left with Mei to do her medical exam leaving me with Kiana. We met with Himeko who congratulated me on my first official mission.
Over the next few weeks everyone started doing their best training and studying for the annual Valkyrie exam, as for me, I was confident in my ability to remember what I need to remember so, I was more focused with my physical training then studying.
While this was happening I didn't pent as much time with the girls as I did until now. I simply didn't have time and I wasn't the only one. Kiana had Mei on her to make her study while Bronya was supposed to be in the hospital but we all know she won't stay there for long.
One night I felt Kiana is having a nightmare and bet I know what it is. (Sirin. I know you had a hard life but your herrscher persona is too much.) I held Kiana in my arms and slowly whispered in her ear: "Everything will be fine. I am next to you, and if or when I am not you will still have everyone to count on. So, don't let her words disturb your sleep and trust me when I say... You'll become the strongest valkyrie in history."
It didn't seem to help but I still kept saying the everything will be alright, until at one point I fallen asleep. The next day everything felt normal, no depressing feelings nor did I feel tension in the air.. well, no tension other than the one everyone feels before an important exam.
Over the last year my morning warm stopped at some point, well not entirely since I still do it once in a while. During my training session I took the chance to get some advice from the senior valkyries that I met during the crowed hours of training. Some suggested to learn and polish combat and/or everyday skills while some suggested to do some sparing since nothing beats some hand to hand experience. Everyone at St.Freya were nice but there were some bad apples as well. Some were very competitive while some thought that they were better because of their family or history but of course their skill pales in comparison with their ancestors.
The days before the exam passed at a fast peace and so were the days before the VOID. Learning form my past life's mistake I made a plan for those days but noted nothing on the paper and neither on some digital file, no prof left behind.
P.O.V. Kiana
"Wake up~☆" suddenly I heard Mei's voice.
"Huh? Mei, is that you?" looking around I see Mei but something is wrong.
"From where should the story begin, Kiana?" she sayd smiling towards me but It feels wrong.
"... Who the hell are you?" I ask her.
"I am a ghost from your past... a nightmare you'll never escape from."
"What's wrong, Mei? You look weird." her smile fades as she looks at me.
"Kiana, I've putting up with you all this time. You're always getting in our way."-'Mei'
"What? That's not nice"-Me
"If it weren't for Diana, that beast would have turned us into rotting corpses."-'Mei'
"Everyone has to work hard to keep you alive. Your even worse than that kid Bronya."-'Mei'
"Why are you hurting me, Mei?"-Me
"You're pathetic, Kiana. PA-THE-TIC.☆"-'Mei'
"Dang it! You're not Mei! Mei is never this mean!"-'Mei'
Releasing that she is a fake I launch forward to beat her up. She fights like her and has the same voice but she is different.
"Kiana, your very existence is a mistake."-'Mei'
