Having a girlfriend doesn't seem half bad when there's a woman in our kitchen cooking some bomb ass home cooked meals.
Between the four of us, Dominic and I are probably the best cooks in the house. But for some reason, it's not as fun cooking my own meals. Something about that just does not sit right with me. But having Miguel's wonderful girlfriend, Violet cook. Now that's the best.
However, the girlfriend charm washes away once it's my turn to do the dishes.
Don't get me wrong: I love V. We all do. And I love seeing how happy my boy is. But that also just reminds me, that sex with one woman for the rest of my life, also doesn't sit well with me.
Not at all.
I guess it's good that at least one of us here was able to find love. Miguel took one for the team. Which means we get to sit here with him and enjoy some of his relationship luxuries.
"Thank God, you found a girlfriend who can cook." I say walking in the kitchen.
Violet laughs while Miguel rolls his eyes.
Violet made chicken parmigiana for dinner. The smell of deliciousness now fills our house. Which is the only reason that I got up from the couch. Not only am I a sucker for girls but also for food. I love to eat.
Women and food.
"What? I'm just saying." I smile innocently. "Your girl is a great cook and we're all very grateful for that."
"Amen to that." Johnny says, walking in to the kitchen. "I'm tired of takeout and microwave dinners."
Miguel rolls his eyes at Johnny. "Not you too." He scolds. "Maybe if we cooked every other day then we wouldn't be tired of takeout."
Gross. Miguel only knows how to cook breakfast food and spaghetti. We don't need him taking turns cooking in this house. Johnny knows how to cook a bit more but it's simple food like quesadillas or burgers. And Dom is always in his keto type food. But Violet, makes cooler dishes.
"Pass." I say. "You only make breakfast food."
This makes Violet laugh. "Babe, I've already told you that I don't mind cooking. And he's right, your go to is always breakfast food."
Now Miguel looks offended. It's too funny. "What's wrong with breakfast food?"
"Dude who wants to eat eggs with bacon or a ham omelette twice a week for dinner? Not me." Jay says.
"Ungrateful assholes." Miguel mumbles.
We help set up the table and start by cleaning some of the dishes V used to cook that are laying in the sink. It is actually nice to eat dinner like this. I feel like now with how busier we've gotten, this doesn't happen as much anymore.
