Usually Friday nights are reserved for parties. After games or practice, we throw a party hoping to unwind and some to make some questionable choices. But tonight is like our Friday. It's the Thursday before Thanksgiving break and we had our game today.
Max and his roommates decided to throw a party, before parting ways for a week. Iknow, dramatic. But either way I'm thankful for it.
There's one known fact about me: I don't stress.
For Christ sake I'm twenty one years old. What is there to stress about? My grades are impeccable. Football is going fantastic as well. And don't even get me started on the girl department.
Except, I'm not sure how that's going...
Last weekend when I drove a drunk Daisy home, she kissed me and it caught me off guard, obviously. But I also brushed it off because I knew that how drunk she was and it didn't mean anything. Then the other day she admitted that she was actually trying to sleep with me, and I haven't been able to think about anything else since.
Super inconvenient.
So now here I am, on a Friday night, at a party, still nursing the same drink I poured more than an hour ago. I'm also not taking any hits off the joint Dominic and the guys keep passing around.
"Dude what's wrong with you?" Max asks, while trying not to cough from the big ass hit he just took.
Dominic, Max, Travis and I are all hanging out at Max's house, sitting on his huge ass sectional in the living room while everyone just parties around us.
Finally, I take a drag of the blunt to see if maybe that will help me relax some. "Nothing, I'm just tired." I lie.
"Well shrug it off bro." Max says cheerfully.
And that's exactly what I'm trying to do here. I think to myself. I hate being all in my head but for some reason I can't seem to stop thinking about why Daisy did that. Then her explanation wasn't even clear enough. It's like she wanted to say more but she couldn't.
Dominic blows out smoke. "I seen Crystal's here."
Now that catches my attention.
"Seriously?" I narrow my eyes.
He nods. "Word. I had seen when she walked in with her friends. Thought you saw her too."
"And she's single now." Max points out.
Crystal is a art major who I've been trying to hook up with for the longest time. She isn't big on the partying. But it only took her a one time at one of our parties for her to meet Ashton Blakey—a basketball kid—and them to date.
But even before that she'd always reject me. Every time we'd see each other, we'd flirt and she'll be all giggly and sexy only to reject me. I knew she was attracted to me, but I also knew she wasn't the one night kind of girl. Which means I needed another approach to her. And rightnow it's the perfect time.
