In her mother's eyes, she saw her trembling self and the image made her stiff, for she knew that she wasn't supposed to be showing her nervousness. Her hand travelled to her knee and halted it in place, bringing the annoying noise she had been unconsciously making, to come to an end.

Boram flashed a polite smile at her father as his gaze landed on her one more time after hearing what his wife was informing him of, appearing as surprised and perplexed as he was hesitant.

"Dear, are you sure you really have decided to accept this marriage proposal?" He ultimately leaned closer towards his daughter and showed disbelief on his face for despite how his wife had claimed that it was Boram's decision to marry the wealthy man that had proposed to her, her father was still finding it absurd.

"She has been secretly dating him for a few months now dear. I was as surprised as you are but we shouldn't go against a couple if there's love. Don't you think?" Her mother chimed in stealing from her the chance to deny anything and Boram, remained quiet with her gaze on the floor, convincing herself to be patient for she had found a solution that didn't involve confronting her mother or exposing her before her father.

"But he is the same age as me, to not say a few years above. I am not saying that he is a bad man nor he is incapable of giving our daughter a good life, but still- Boram dear, are you sure about this? "Her father scooted closer to her as he addressed her again, gently taking her hand in his to reassure her that he was not mad at her or anything. All he wanted was to hear from her what his wife was telling him and if it was really so, for his daughter's sake he would accept whoever man she was to claim that she loves.

Boram couldn't help but look towards her mother briefly as she hesitated to reply for she wanted to say the truth but that would only bring her mother in more trouble with her father and would send her parents into more fights. One more time she had found herself unable to harm the relationship that she so much wanted to keep intact so she gulped down harshly and plastered a reassuring smile on her face.

"Father I-" Her words got cut off as the door of her father's office suddenly opened and his secretary made his way in, bringing the conversation to a halt and her father's attention away from her.

"Sir, Jungkook is outside and he is requesting to meet with you urgently." His secretary informed him, making Boram's eyes grow wide at the mention of his name and only.

Her feet started getting unsettling again, tapping against the floor as her fingers clinched lightly at the side of her clothes, just as a storm of thoughts started swaying her away.

What could he be meaning to tell her father? She had dry-cleaned his jacket and had personally gone and left it in his waiting room when he was not present. She had even left inside the bag a small apologetic note, despite the fact that she didn't believe that she owed him one. She had used his jacket and had returned it in perfect condition so he had no logical reason for him to be mad at her. At least not mad enough for him to decide to get involved in her business and come tell her father about her suicide attempt. Or so she reassured herself before she snapped back into reality, once her father called out her name again.

"Eh? What?" She uttered, only now noticing that the secretary seemed to have taken his reply and was leaving.

"You and your mother can go wait for me in the meeting room. Inform your fiance to be there too and I will come as soon as I finish my conversation with Jungkook, I promise." Her father patted her shoulder lightly before he stood up and she did too, following her mother that was smiling rather delightfully, imagining how well this meeting was gonna end up.

"Don't be too long dear. We wouldn't want to make a bad impression on our future son-in-law." Her mother uttered delightfully as soon as Boram made her way by her side and she took hold of her wrist.
