Chapter 39

The atmosphere had dived into an uncomfortable silence as P3 and Jungkook stood the one before the other, without breaking eye contact. Their unwavering gazes conveyed a deadly intensity that made your nerves quiver with apprehension and apparently, you weren't the only one worried at that moment as DongMin too was trying to signal Jimin to cut it off. 

"You are a guest. A welcomed one but still- " Jungkook held his ground as his expression portrayed an unyielding determination. " You don't get to come into my house and make demands like that."

P3 closed the distance between them with a menacing step, a low chuckle escaping his lips as he spoke, perplexing Jungkook instantly. " You sure still don't know how to differentiate acting from real life. A disappointment really." 

He played it off casually despite the fact that he degraded Jungkook at that moment, but it was better than acting upon his real desire. P3's mind was racing with thoughts of slicing Jungkook's throat open right then and there, but he knew he couldn't risk harming him. At least not with you around. Only if he knew how lucky he was that P3 controlled himself just because you had made him promise.

Jungkook observed him walk over to you and take his seat by your side on his couch, laughing at him as if he had caught him for a fool and he had, for Jungkook really had not thought even for a second that Jimin was joking. Sure he was acting more rudely than he recalled but it had not crossed his mind so that fact fascinated him momentarily and he smiled back in relief, ignoring the fact that Jimin had found something to critic him about, despite having just stepped in.

"Stop giving acting lectures before you even greet someone properly. You sure got me there." He admitted and you all started laughing, even though nor you nor DongMin really believed that Jimin was just teasing him. You because you knew that he was not Jimin and DongMin because he knew when Jimin means his words.

"You better repay me for this humiliation," P3 murmured by your ear while the room was still covered with fake laughter and you murmured back without looking his. 

"It's not humiliating that you stepped back. I am actually quite thankful for that."

"Exactly, I did it because of you so you better find a way to please me later." He whispered by your ear quickly just as the laughter settled and Jungkook made his way to the couch, taking a seat beside DongMin.

Since you couldn't go off at P3's audacity to use such a situation to his advantage you decided to step hard on his foot, while looking only ahead and keeping your smile. Your action sure must have hurt him, but besides a small whimper that escaped his lips, because of the surprise, nothing else could betray that he had any feelings of pain.

"So, would you like something to drink? Some snacks maybe?" Jungkook recalled his good manners and made an offer that DongMin was ready to take him on, for with all this stress tonight he would definitely appreciate a drink, but as he open his mouth to speak, P3 intervened.

"I am afraid we have no time to waste with such. I would prefer if we got to the point of our visit." He looked at you as he spoke, making you understand that he wanted you to take it from here on.

"Yes, so you see...before explaining I would like to clarify that once you know, we can't allow you to back down. It's a very important matter so you either decide to be on our side now and we proceed to fill you in on all the things you are blind to, or you can say no, and we can pretend this conversation never happened." You placed him before a difficult decision from the get-go but you were betting on his curiosity to be strong enough to lure him on agreeing. Because you could not have it otherwise. 

He sure was a nice person but he was not yet trustable enough and you could not gamble with Jimin's life like that for any reason. Since you could not know what he really thinks of Jungkook knowing about his troubles, the least you could do was make sure that Jungkook would never be someone that would use the situation against Jimin.
