Boram was observing her reflection in the mirror as her mother was in front of her, reaching out for dress after dress, from the arms of the maid that was standing by her side. Bringing them up to judge which one would fit her daughter best and hence decide which one Boram should wear to the outing she was planning on dragging her along.

"I think the baby blue one looks best on you. Go put it on." She shoved the dress in Boram's arms and she just stepped back before nodding and going to change at her small changing corner and pulling on the white curtain that secluded her privacy.

"Hurry up, 'cause we don't have all day. I have so many people to introduce you to. Certainly one of them would take an interest in you and if things could go well, I would be marrying you off and profiting big from it." Her mother's words echoed as she just stared at the dress, her hands gripping it a bit tightly on the fabric as her throat closed on her and a heavy feeling rested once more atop her chest.

"Yes, mother."She whispered her reply as she went on to try the dress even though she had never liked much the baby blue shade. Not because it was ugly, but simply because it was too bright for someone like her. It made her feel untrue to her own self even though no matter what she was to wear she would still feel the same, simply because the clothes weren't truly the problem.

The words her mother had spoken to her prior had poisoned her heart more than she could be allowed to show, not because she didn't know that it was hard for her mother to love her but because those words broke a bit more than fainted hope she had within her. However, if she had to be unhappy and in misery to have a chance to be loved by her, no matter how bitter and how terrifying the thought was to her, there was a part within her that still wanted to go for it. Because for the child within her, everything was worth it, if it meant that she could finally achieve to get a bit of her mother's love.

Just for her, all for her. Was it egoistic that Boram just wanted her mother to love her wholly for once? Even if she was to be standing before her in her most broken state possible, an empty shell of a being with no ounce of life in her eyes, wouldn't her mother smiling at her and embracing her for once, make her soul a bit happy? Hearing her uttering that she loves her, even a single time, wasn't that a reason worth withstanding every kind of pain and humiliation she may throw her in?

Like the one she was going to do once, they go out together today. Boram already knew that her mother would be parading her around as if she was for sale, to men that most likely will be older than her and even men that are known to not treat women right. Because as she had stated, she wanted her miserable so what better than for Boram to be trapped not only in a loveless marriage but also in an abusive one?

As she finished putting her dress on, Boram took notice of her trembling hands as she pulled the zipper for the thought only that she was gonna end up being with someone who would treat her like her mother does, was making her want to die. For as always only death seemed like the escape that could give her a bit of mercy.

"I am ready, mother." She plastered a smile on her lips as she pulled the curtain and showed herself, concealing her thoughts well as usual.

"You look stunning, Miss."The maid complimented her in awe and Boram nodded at her as her smile widened, grateful for her kindness.

"Don't exaggerate. She looks good enough, that's it. Now let's get going. We don't have all day." Her mother snapped at the maid and Boram let her smile fade quickly before she followed her mother outside the door, the corridors and down the stairs to the living room.

"Miss, I was coming to you. You have a guest." Another maid suddenly rushed towards the stairs, making both her mother and Boram halt their steps with her words.
