Jungkook's gaze kept drifting towards his manager, who sat beside him in the van, as they made their way to the morning filming location. The air inside the vehicle carried an uncomfortable tension for him, which deferred from how it usually was. It seemed surreal to Jungkook that he could feel so anxious simply because he was in such close proximity to a man who had been by his side for such a long time.

The weight of the information he had gathered the previous night burdened his mind, relentlessly replaying itself like a broken record. It was a secret he now had to carry, but also one that was urging his curiosity and making him try to carefully find in Mr DuHo any possible changes he might have never noticed before. Disappointingly enough, however, his manager seemed to be just as ordinary as he knows of him to be.

Just like on any day, Mr DuHo was speaking of his instructions, mapping out the day ahead with clarity. "Please make every effort to wrap up the filming as quickly as possible," he emphasised, his voice punctuated by a sense of urgency. "We've managed to secure a commercial slot around 11 am, followed by an interview at 2. We'll return to the night shoot around 5, and expect a late night due to the demanding scenes. It's crucial that we wrap everything up today so that tomorrow can be free of any distractions. We need to make a lasting impression on the director when we meet them at the airport."

Mr DuHo was looking at his tablet while speaking, completely unaware that despite the fact that Jungkook had his eyes on him, his words were nothing but a ringing in his ears as his mind was consumed by a different narrative. Jungkook was travelling back in his memories in an attempt to recall if he had ever found his manager's behaviour as off for maybe the times that he had, could be proof that he was not talking to Mr DuHo but the other one that looked just like him.

It was messing with his head, the fact that he had most likely been in the presence of both many times yet never even noticed or felt that something was off. Was his instincts dead or did he never really pay enough attention to him to know him well enough to understand when he was behaving like himself or not? The second certainly was sounding like less hurtful for his ego, so he sided with that option just as he felt his mobile phone vibrate in his pocket.

He let him continue talking and just reached into his pocket for it, but once he saw that it was a text message from you, Jungkook turned his head to look at Mr DuHo once more, with a sense of restlessness growing inside him.

He gulped down his own saliva harshly as he scooted a bit further away and carefully opened your text, not wanting his manager to steal any accidental glances over at his screen.

His facial expression was what momentarily betrayed him though, as he read your text and immediately turned the phone screen down and rested it on his thigh while he remained looking down at it, with widened eyes.

I have to take the blood sample today! What the heck? We agreed to be tomorrow...I am not prepared!... Just what are they thinking?"

His mind erupted in a panic that he later managed to place on a text and actually send you a reply that reflected his inner thoughts.

"Are you even listening to me?"

"Eh? Why? Of course, I am." He snapped his head towards DuHo as the man seemed to have taken notice that his attention was not where it should be and he sure looked annoyed because of that.

"Who are you even texting at 9 am? Give me that." DuHo reached his hand out, attempting to confiscate Jungkook's phone for the moment since it was an obstacle to his concentration on work.

It was a normal thing that happened occasionally but this was one of those times that there was no way Jungkook could hand him his phone, for that meant that he wouldn't be able to further communicate with you.
