Everyone has Demons

A few days passed with no hits on facial recognition or Crowley's attempts at locating Sam's demon Ruby.

We weren't giving up, but we were starting to give up hope.

Dean and Crowley had been civil as we worked together to try and find Sam, I could tell neither of them were happy to be working together, but they also seemed to have this unspoken bond.

Castiel couldn't get in now that Dean had helped me ward my apartment against Angels as well as Demons.

Obviously Lucifer couldn't get in now, and I hadn't seen him in my dreams either. Whether that was because I was too busy focusing on finding Sam to think about him, or the fact Crowley had been staying with me.

"Anything?" Dean asked, peering over my shoulder at the laptop screen, I had ran so many photos of Sam through the system but he hadn't been picked up on any cameras in the City for days.

"No" I sighed "He obviously isn't in the City anymore"

"Have you heard from Crowley?" he asked, I shook my head, "I'll call him" he told me, pulling out his phone.

I watched as he paced the living room talking to my boyfriend on the phone. I could tell by his tone, body language and facial expressions that Crowley hadn't located Ruby.

He slumped on the sofa beside me defeated.

"We'll find him Dean" I whispered, although I wasn't confident, and I'm sure the wobble in my voice gave me away as I squeezed his shoulder.

"Grace you know there's one thing we haven't tried yet....." he started

"Dean I said no" I snapped

"Grace please" he pleaded "at this point I'm willing to try anything"

"What makes you think he will help us!" I exclaimed, "Last time he saw you, you were trying to get him back in the cage!"

"I know that" he sighed "But if you just talk to him"

"You know this is the actual Devil right?" I laughed, "He's not like Crowley"

"He might be our only hope" he continued "please do it for Sammie"

"Do you remember what happened the last time you tried to bully me into reaching out to him?" I snapped, angry that he was trying to use emotional blackmail.

"I know Grace" he sighed, leaning against the wall "and I'm so sorry for what we did"

I was waiting for a 'But..' and it never came. This was a genuine apology from Dean of all people.

"Apology accepted" I smiled, taken aback.

"Will you at least consider it?" he asked

"Yes Dean" I promised "Once I feel like we have exhausted every other option, I will consider reaching out to him, I just can't help but feel his help would come with a condition"

"If he wants anything from you we tell him to stuff it" Dean snapped, his protective side coming out.

We spent the rest of the day making phone calls and searching the internet for any signs of demon activity that could be Sam. Dean started to trace all of the credit cards that Sam might have with him. But all we uncovered were dead ends and a large withdrawal of cash before he disappeared.

Deans phone rang.

"Where are you?" he asked, the tone in his voice hopeful, he glanced across at me "We're on our way"

"Was that him?" I asked

Dean shook his head "Castiel" He's found Sam's truck"

I grabbed my coat and my hunting duffle bag and followed Dean out to my car, we were practically running.
