What am I doing

I woke up before Dean so I set about making Breakfast.

I hadn't slept well, too worried about who I might find in my dreams and too worried about Sam to settle.

Dean must have either heard me or smelt bacon because he emerged from his room bleary eyed with horrendous bed head.

"Something smells good" he greeted, the air was awkward between us, he knew I didn't want to talk about last night, and even though he was dying to question me, he was more concerned about Sam right now.

"Figured we could use a good breakfast before we start hunting" I smiled. "You had any inspiration of where to look?"

He shook his head "No but I'm gonna get the word out that Sam is missing" he pulled out a chair at my dining room table and slumped into it rubbing his eyes "Hopefully someone had seen or heard something"

"We'll find him Dean" I reassured him, placing his food on the table in front of him,

"Thanks" he forced a smile "you know its times like these I miss your dad" he took a bite and closed his eyes enjoying the greasy meal "Bobby always knew exactly what to do"

"I wish I knew him like you do" I sighed, biting on some bacon

"You would have loved him" Dean chuckled "and you would have driven him crazy with worry" I giggled too.

Dean made some calls while I tidied up and got ready. I tried to call Crowley but he didn't answer. I'd really pissed him off, and I felt horrendously guilty for what almost happened with Lucifer.

"Anything?" I asked Dean as I walked back into the living room, he sighed and shook his head,

"Have you tried Crowley?" he asked, I nodded and he could tell by the look on my face that I hadn't spoke to him. "How about your other boyfriend?" he teased, the look I shot him told him I didn't see the funny side. "Ok" he smirked, holding his hands up in surrender "But it's worth a shot"

"You want me to ask Lucifer for help?" I asked shocked, he only shrugged "Well A, you have chained him up twice and attempted to a third time so why on earth would he help us, and B I don't have a number for the devil"

"He wouldn't help 'US'" he emphasised the 'US' part, gesturing between the two of us "But he would help you" he smirked, I blushed but turned away in an attempt to hide him "I don't think you need a phone number, I'm sure every time you say his name his ears prick up"

"No Dean" I told him, "We'll find Sam without either of them" I could tell he didn't share my confidence.

It was a long afternoon but I finally managed to hack into the City's CCTV system to use facial recognition.

"Oh my god Dean I'm in!" I yelled, he had just left the room to make a call but ran back in when he heard me, his eyes lit up. I had always been a computer geek but this was impressive even for me.

"Yes Grace!" he exclaimed "You're amazing I love you !" and he kissed my cheek.

"How sweet" the excitement was short lived and replaced by a feeling I couldn't place.

"Crowley" I spoke, smiling at him, he didn't smile back "I thought the warding...."

"I found a way around it" He interrupted "Can we talk in private?" I nodded and headed for my bedroom, Crawley followed.

"Crowley about what I said......" I started

"I might not have a soul but I understand family" he interrupted "I overreacted when I saw Dean here, I guess the fact I couldnt get in combined with the shock of seeing him and how protective I feel for you.......I'm sorry"

I was shocked at how easy his apology came, I thought I would have to grovel.

"Me too" I told him

"So if helping them means helping you" he sighed "What do you need me to do?"

The realisation of how understanding he was being filled me with guilt, I nearly kissed another man in this very room. Not just any man.....the one man that would hurt him the most.

"Can you find out where this Ruby is?" I asked hopeful,

"Ruby has become very skilled at staying under the radar...she doesn't like me as a leader very much" he sighed "but I can try"

"Thank you" I whispered placing a hand on his chest "I hate fighting with you"

"Me too darling" he breathed out, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me close to him. "And I certainly have not enjoyed being in a different bed to you the last couple nights" he kissed the top of my head "I got used to waking up next to you" I smiled liking the fact he missed me, but I had gotten used to waking up to find him gone.

"Hopefully now that we aren't living together full time, we will make more of an effort to see each other" I whispered, Crowley only nodded.

"I love you" he whispered, I stood on my tiptoes and kissed him.

"I love you" I giggled,

"Let's go help Squirrel find his Moose" Crowley beamed, I knew the boys hated those nicknames, but I wasn't about to correct him.

Crowley disappeared to try and find Ruby, I headed back to the dining room to find Dean and a man I didn't recognise.

"Who the hell are you!?" I exclaimed, feeling off guard that I didn't have any weapons handy.

"Chill out Grace he's a friend" Dean calmed me, I relaxed a little "Grace" he smiled "Meet Castiel"

"Your Castiel?" I asked Dean excitedly, He smile ans nodded, "I thought you were dead?" I directed the last part at Castiel.

"I was" he said matter of factly "but now I'm not"

"I'll explain later" Dean laughed

"It's nice to meet you Grace" Castiel smiled,

"You too Cas" I replied "I've heard so much about you"

"What did the King say?" Dean scoffed

"He's going to help" I told him

"Really?" He asked surprised, I nodded and he shrugged, "You still gonna try using the CCTV?"

"Worth a shot" I sighed and sat down at my laptop, pulling up a photo of Sam to stick in facial recognition. "Hey Dean?"

"Yeah" he replied

"Can you help me ward this place against angels too?" I asked "No offence" I quickly added looking at Castiel "There's just one in particular I could do with keeping out"

"Abso-fucking-lutely" Dean laughed.
