After setting up everything with Luca, we decided not to use a professional camera but our work phone, so it gives a sense of familiarity and comfort for everyone, including the people watching.
We walked outside on the pitch and the first person I saw was Sergio Ramos.
Luca turned on the camera and we started.
'Sergio! Hey!' I said with a big smile on my face.
'Hola, Irina.' he said, returning the smile.
'Okay, so it looks like you are starting the interviews today. How do you feel?'
'It's an honour being interviewed first by you.' he said chuckling, his thick spanish accent coming through.
'Oh, please.' I said shyly. 'So, are you ready?'
'Born ready.' he said chuckling.
'You have been named the Best Defender of All Times. Now, the question is... What do you like more? Defending or scoring?'
'It just happened for me to be very good at defending, but I enjoy scoring more.'
'Really?' I said a bit surprised.
'Yes. It's something about the adrenaline and the excitement that comes with it.' he said smiling.
'Very interesting. My next question is... Who is your favourite team member?'
'I don't think I have one.' he said laughing.
'So what you're trying to say, is that you hate everyone on the team?' I said joining in, laughing.
'Oh, no, no.' he shook his head while laughing. 'I just think they're all great guys.'
'Then who are you closest to?'
'I think I'm closest to Hakimi.' He said nodding his head.
'What would you say your best goal has been, since starting your football career?'
'I think one of my favourite goals has to be the one in 2014, against Atletico Madrid, who contributed in winning the Champions League.'
'Isn't that when you were playing for Real Madrid?' I asked laughing.
'Yeah. But don't let anyone know that.' Sergio whispers.
'Next question. Is there anything you could improve on the pitch?'
'Maybe tricks.' Sergio nods. 'Definitely more tricks.'
'Yeah tricks are great. Last question. Are you proud of yourself?'
'Oh, one hundred percent. I think I've always made myself proud. And I will continue making myself proud.'
'Yeah, well, over the years you've made millions of people proud as well. So thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. And I will let you get back to your training.' I said smiling.
'Thank you for choosing me to be your first.' Sergio laughs while giving me a side hug, and then returning back to the pitch.
'Too bad he has a wife, no?' Luca laughs.
'Don't be a douche.' I hit him playfully.
Without having to approach him myself, Marquinhos came behind me and scared me.
'Oh my god.' I yell, taking a deep breath.
'I want to be next.' Marquinhos smiles.
'Are you ready?' I ask.
'Don't I look ready?' Marquinhos laughs.
'Oh, you most definitely do.'
'As everyone knows, you play as a defender for Paris Saint German. Unfortunately, you haven't been named the Best Defender of All Times.' I said with a sad expression on my face.
