Chapter 106: Battle at the Mountain Pass (North) IV

[Mountain Pass]

The battle was too intense, many warriors die by the minute, even the heavy invested gryphons were slowly being whittled away as the battle goes on. Blood and screams spreads out all over the area from where the battle is happening, the sound of  weapons clashing sends tremors across the field, the shrieks of the gryphons accompanied by the roars of their riders echoed out in the air, every part from what the eye can see demonstrate what a war really is.

Soon after the battle lasted throughout the day till the sun showed signs of setting down. Both sides operated their own army as they see fit to accommodate the changes of tides in the battlefield. Neither Payton nor Boris backed down as they hustled their troops to battle, both of them tried to outdo one another through the use of war tactics they've learned throughout their lives.

However despite their own tactics being used, the situation in the battlefield remain as a stalemate in between, as none of their armies were able to pierce through their rival army's formations. Not long after the number of casualties rises, as warriors from both sides died out. The lines of ones then soon turned to the lines of hundredths, the line of hundredths then soon became above 5 hundreds, so on and so forth.

Later at the time when the sky begin to grow dark, the northern warriors who were assigned to circle back the siege weapons  at their blind spot, then soon finally arrived at their destination. from their point of view, the northern warriors could literally see the southern warriors going busy as they keep reloading the  siege weapons in order to take down their allies.

Without further ado they soon unsheathed their blades as roars rung out from them before charging over towards the unsuspecting people. The moment the war cry of the northern warriors was heard, the unsuspecting southern warriors quickly looked over to see what was happening and was surprised to see that they have been encircled by their enemy.

But since this came in as a surprise, they were only able to react from this sudden attack the moment some of them died from ambush on their side. With no choice, the southern warriors left their post as they unsheathed their own weapon and begun fighting back their attackers.

The moment the people in charge of the siege weapons were attacked, the attacks from above then soon halted which then lifted the pressure that the northern army experience from fighting in the battlefield. With the assaults from the siege weapons gone, the northern army then pushed forward as Payton quickly issued a command for three armies to attack and move forward

Once the opportunity showed itself, Payton literally took such chance to push forward and push back the southern army. Naturally this was immediately noticed by Boris causing panic to spread within their camp.

"Reporting!!!"

"Speak..." permitted by Boris

"The people in charge of the siege weapons' are currently being under attack by the enemy forces, they request aid immediately to deter the enemy"

Hearing such report, Boris then looked over at the other chiefs near him as he begun choosing which among them was appropriate to send for such a responsibility. Not long after he then turned towards the 2nd Chief right by his side as he gave out a request.

"I need you to handle this situation as you fit... can you do that my friend?"

"Leave it to me" replied by the 2nd chief as he quickly rush away and led his troops towards the area in which the siege weapons were located

Upon seeing that the 2nd chief didn't hesitate at all when he heard his request, Boris was then assured that he would be able to do his job properly and was confident to leave the matter to him. With that he then turned towards the battlefield before looking over at the setting sun.
