When it came down to Soukoku, turning eighteen, therefore entering the legal adult world, didn't necessarily mean that Chuuya and Dazai magically became grown-ups overnight. Mori, and basically everybody in the Port Mafia who had the misfortune to interact with them, got to learn this the hard way. Shouting matches and small physical fights were everyday occurrences, and the subordinates working with them always tried to get out of the deadly duo's path whenever they went at it around headquarters, but the property damage they left behind was an inconvenient mess to clean up every time.

Mori Ogai never really cared about material things, but after Double Black destroyed the third company car that month, always blaming the final blow on the other, he decided to take action and make the two young adults finally understand what real responsibility was. Also, getting the custom-made, not government issued license plates was too much of a hassle to be blown up because Chuuya was just too small to properly look out of the window, or Dazai's shitty smile was just asking for the car door to be torn off.

So, as the fights got worse, and the damage left behind on Port Mafia property increased, Mori decided on taking Soukoku's private car privileges and condemned the duo to use the Yokohama public transport system. No taxis, no catching a ride with other subordinates, no nothing but the crowded, unconventional public train.

The morning was humid and warm, and Chuuya was especially happy with his choice to leave his long overcoat at home. Even though there was a specific dress code for the Mafia, the redhead didn't miss the heavy material to keep the slight breeze away from his already sweaty body. The same couldn't be said about his hat, which was mysteriously missing from his closet again. He looked down at his watch and huffed in annoyance. Dazai was already late, and the last train they had to take to get to the meeting point in time was due in less than five minutes.

"Shitty beanpole, always late and makes me look bad in front of everyone," Chuuya muttered under his breath, as he straightened his back and decided that no matter where his partner was, he wouldn't be late again. Ever since Mori made them take public transportation, Dazai took it upon himself to arrive everywhere as late as he could, therefore bringing Chuuya down with him; as them being Double Black meant that they not only fought but got scolded together as well.

"Who are you talking to, chibi? Got yourself a tiny friend down there?" The obnoxious voice came from right behind Chuuya, and the accompanying chuckle made his blood boil. Riling him up in under three seconds was a feat Dazai mastered over the years of their partnership, and however much Chuuya tried to contain his rage around said Mackerel, they always ended up in some kind of a showdown in the end.

Chuuya turned around, and stared up at his partner with a slightly annoyed expression, "You are almost late. Again."

"The emphasis should be on the almost, though," Dazai's teasing smirk started to play on Chuuya's last strings of patience holding him back from pouncing on the other man and kick the living hell out of him, and it was still only 7 in the morning. "Also, if the meeting was that important, Mori shouldn't have made us take a 40-minute-long train ride to the gathering point."

The redhead opened his mouth to jab back, but he had to swallow his insults because the noise of the arriving train drained out all other sounds across the busy platform. He turned around, hoping that it could be seen as him taking the high road and not falling for Dazai's bait again, but the quiet chuckle that reached his ears said otherwise. Oh well, he could always fight Dazai after they got out of such a public place.
