After the battle with Artisan, Ladybug headed back to the alley where she and Luka hid. She de-transforms, feeds Tikki, and puts her back in her purse.
Marinette: You're still here?
Luka: Yeah. *He came out of hiding and walked up to her. He tried to touch her shoulder, but she wasn't feeling happy at the moment. * Marinette, I'm sorry about what I said. You know I didn't mean it like that.
Marinette: Luka... can we not talk about it now?
Luka: Okay.
Marinette: Let's go. *They both walk out of the alleyway and walk down the street. *
Luka: (I don't want her to hate me or break up.) *Then, Cat Noir landed and put Kagami down. *
Kagami: Thank you.
Adrien: You're welcome. Oh, hi Mrs. Tsuguri.
Tomoe: Hmm.
Cat Noir: Okay... well, gotta make like a ball of yarn and roll. *He extended his stick and vaulted away. *
Kagami: Mother, I...
Tomoe: Before you say anything, I want to say something. *She goes to her bed and sits down; she pats on the bed. * Come, sit. *Kagami sits down next to her mom. * Now, why did you lie about fencing? *Kagami sighed. *
Kagami: What do you want to talk about Mother?
Tomoe: This whole... painting thing.
Kagami: (groans) I know you think it's pointless and I'm not good enough. But it's something that I'm passionate about and I'm not stopping doing what I love.
Tomoe: I did say that. But you know I want what's best for you. I guess I should've asked you what you want to do in life.
Kagami: Just because you can't see things and appreciate their beauty, doesn't mean that they aren't good.
Tomoe: I know that now. But did you mean what you said about fencing?
Kagami: Well, I still do enjoy it, mother. But my motivation for going is more to spend time with Adrien.
Tomoe: You like him huh?
Kagami: Yes, I think he's perfect. But I'm not sure he wants to be with me.
Tomoe: Why'd you say that?
Kagami: I started to see how he acted whenever we used to be together. Probably have feelings for my friend Marinette.
Tomoe: I see. I thought you two would be together because he completes you.
Kagami: I thought so too. But... not entirely.
Tomoe: I want to ask you about painting. I thought you were into fencing. That's why you signed up and got on the fencing team. It was a lie, was it?
Kagami: I still enjoy it, mother. Just my preferences have changed. And I guess I still have a long way to go to find someone who completes me. But I enjoy painting more. You understand, right?
Tomoe: I do now. Sorry if I was too hard on you and carrying on the family legacy of fencing. Tell you what, you can still fence, and paint in your free time. How's that?
Kagami: Thank you, mother. *She was cautious about hugging her, but her mom opened her arms and they both hugged. *
In Marinette's house, Sabine poured a cup of tea into her teacup and took a sip.
