It was obvious that statement took him by surprise. For whatever reason, he seemed taken back. The thought that Derek was anything like this man in front of me, was Astounding. This man was a leech at best. But if he and Lee were scared of Lee's sister, maybe those two weren't as bad as she was. It was hard to believe that a woman, who had been bedridden, was in control of the entire mafia gang in Chicago. But it wasn't impossible.

"Hmph, how do you figure that," He asks, smirking. His face twisted into a smile. That was the most evil face I'd ever seen. If evil had a face, he would be it.

"Because, If Lee's sister was the head of the mafia, and she's been in a coma for ten years, Lee would be in charge, but since Lee is behind bars, I'm guessing his right arm man, you, would be in charge, meaning you call the shots," I spit. He sticks his tongue to the side of his mouth. This was funny to him, he was toying with me. I could tell. He wanted to see how long I'd play this game with him.

"You're a smart woman Addison, but the real question is, what does Derek have to do with any of it?"

"Seriously, why would I ask that, you're the one who came into his home trying to kill him," I said, giving him attitude. He shakes his head as if I wasn't on the right track.

"You're wrong, I didn't come to kill him, I made him a deal, he wanted you safe, ever since I sent the letter, he came to the library, knowing I'd meet him," He said. But he stops when I realize what happened that night upstairs.

"He drug Dwayne, staged a fight between us, and paid the man to knock Wes out, and Wes didn't know, so the gun goes off, shooting Faith, she wasn't part of the plan, so Derek plays innocent, but he staged the entire thing, made a deal with you to leave me alone, and pretended to flee," I said, not believing myself. But he nods. But then why come after Tracy? And why didn't Dani cut a deal too?

"Is Lee Dani's father," I ask, bluntly. He sighs knowing I'm not giving up.

"She doesn't know, and she doesn't need to know, so keep that to yourself, in fact, it's better if you keep all this to yourself anyway, no need to tell your bodyguard or Wes, Derek cut a deal, so now I'm only after his mother," He says turning his back, but he didn't leave he stood still for a moment.

"Where is he, Damien?" He turns to face me.

"I've got him somewhere safe, at least, safe enough," He says. This probably wasn't the best time to sniff around, but if Damien had Derek, then Derek was in trouble. Damien wouldn't let Derek stay comfortably. He was either behind held hostage, or being tortured. Either way, he wasn't safe. And no I knew Derek was in trouble, it made things harder for me.

"Knowing you, he's in trouble, I want to speak to him, let me talk to him, and maybe I'll believe you," I said. He chuckles to himself, pulling out his phone. He dials a number, putting it on speakerphone. Smartphones were good for something. It rings a few times before someone answers.

"What," The voice said. It was Derek's. He puts the phone close to his mouth and tells me to stay quiet. He didn't want him to know he was still visiting me.

"Derek, I wanted to see what you were up to, not thinking about backing out of our deal right," He asks. Derek pauses for a moment.

"If Addison is safe, then I won't go back on my word, but if you so much as touch a hair, I'll kill you," He yes. He sounded fine, that's what hurt worse. He was doing fine, and he chose to leave me. He chose it.

"Hmm, I won't hurt her the one she should be worried about is laying in the hospital, don't worry D, I'll not touch her, in any way, or her sisters," He said before cutting off. So he was alive and well. He was hiding out with his father as part of his father's scheme to get his mother. Which led to more questions.
