Something about the sound of his voice sent goosebumps up my spine. Seeing him released was not my best moment, but it was needed. If Damien truly was working it was his sister, he needed to know about it. If she hired him to kill someone, then Lee might not have known. Lee had grown somewhat of facial hair, which didn't complement him well Honestly, he looked homeless. And to be fair, he smelled homeless.
But now that we had Lee, where could we take him? If we took him straight to the villa right now, people would notice. I wanted to suggest taking him to a diner somewhere, or a motel room, to prep him, but honestly, I couldn't hear over that loud narcissistic attitude.
"How lovely, you posted my bail, talk about irony," He joked. This was not a laughing matter, and to be honest, I couldn't feel less Uncomfortable if I tried. However, Faith seemed to notice the sudden drop in the atmosphere.
"Easy girl," I said, looking at her, she paused, watching him, and I turned to him again.
"This isn't a joke, I posted bail for a reason, we need your help," I said. He looked almost amused. And to say this wasn't my finest moment is a hundred percent the truth. This was like me looking a gift horse in the mouth if you will.
"Oh, I see, you help me, I help you, except what am I helping you with exactly?"
"It's Damien, he's trying to make a deal with me, to come back with him or he will traffic my sisters," I said, shortly. Not going into too much detail. He thins his mouth putting his lips together and gives me a sideways confused look.
"Hmm, I see, well, give me the details, what am I here for?"
"Protection, you try to win over your gang members, giving Derek and me a chance to escape from Damien, and if you can testify on the appointed court date, against him, we will lock him up, and throw out your misdemeanor," I said, getting to a point. He nods, taking that into account.
While Dwayne was driving, he kept glancing back from time to time. I noticed a sudden change in Lee's posture. More, willing.
"Okay, I Protect you from Damien and his new members, you and Derek escape, have Damien arrested, and I testify against him, is there something you're not telling me," He asked, I knew he would suspect something. Honestly, I thought it wouldn't come up until we were back at the villa if we went back.
"Okay so here's the truth, your sister, and Damien, were sleeping together after you and Tracy, turns out your big sis orchestrated the entire murders and trafficking of the first girl," I said, he looked at me, with a very awkward and confused look.
"First girl, there was another?" He didn't seem Surprised by his sister's involvement. I sigh and take a breath.
"Yes a few years ago, while she was in a coma, Damien trafficked someone else, I'm guessing to either pay for her medical or to put it back until she woke up, either way, he's after my sister, well one of them anyway, the other he finds attractive to himself," I said, getting that same puking taste in my mouth as I did before, though I hadn't thought to mention it before.
"Huh, Lena and Damien, I knew they liked each other, I figured they slept together, but her murdering and trafficking, that is a shock even to me," He said. He crossed his arms and looked out the window for a second before looking at me.
"Okay, say I help you, how do I know you won't have me arrested with him?"
"Because I plan to defend you in court." That shocked him. He did not know what to say after that. Honestly, I can't believe I said it. Though, that would have been a better lead. Dwayne was almost surprised by that too. But to be fair, if he helped protect me and Derek, I would defend his case for it, so long as he respected us enough, to leave us be.
