Shit. That's all I could think. Dwayne looks frightened. And no one wanted to state the obvious. Tracy was out there, with Damien loose. If Damien had beef with her she could've been in trouble. Were there any guards down there with him? How did he even get out? Wasn't the point of bringing in more guards, for our safety? And now Dwayne tells us that Damien has escaped the cell. My body began to shake with fear and anger. Was it not enough that we all argued during dinner? Was anyone going to state the obvious? It seemed weird to me that the day my mother showed up, Damien got out. We had plenty of family dinners, and tonight is the night he escapes.

"What the hell do you mean he escaped?" Lee asks. Dwayne tries to catch a breath.

"What I said, he escaped his cell, or he was released either way, he's gone, and we don't know where he is," Dwayne says. I look at Adrian, he sees my panic about to happen. Derek strides over to Dwayne. He tells Dwayne to check on Tracy and be careful. And then looks at me. But I am still looking at Adrian. Adrain still has my hand.

"Rosa, breathe," He says. I take a deep breath, releasing it. My heart stops pumping so fast. Chloe and Riley look at each other, and Derek notices how calm I seem to be with Adrian. I was never calm like this with anyone else, not even my sisters.

"Damn, Adrian are you a wizard," Noah asks. He looks at Noah and back at me. I am still looking at him, calmly breathing.

"No, sometimes the best way to calm someone, is to let them know you are with them, breathing with them helps," He said. I nodded a couple of times, letting him know, I was okay. Faith begins growling. Adrian looks down, grabbing his gun from his back. Derek notices him grab it, so he takes his gun out of the waistband of his pants.

All I could think of was Dwayne being alone, and Tracy too. I hoped they were okay. My mother had never moved. If I did not know any better I would think my mother was behind this. At this point, it would make sense. If anyone else had released him, it wouldn't have made any sense. Faith continued growling. Derek and Adrian had their guns out, and I was beside Adrian. But Adrian lets the gun go with one hand and places it in front of me moving me back.

"Stay behind me Rosa," He says.

I do as he tells me. this was just great, the night before our date night, we were held up in the dining room, waiting for Damien to find us. His beef with me could cost my sisters their lives or worse. I had hoped to see Tracy and Dwayne run through the door, but they were still nowhere around. Dwayne was my best friend and brother. And Tracy was like my mother. She had been there for me and she did say I felt like hers. I hoped she was okay.

As if on cue, Dwayne runs through the door, but no sign of Tracy. I kept hoping everything was okay and that she had locked herself in her room and just didn't want to come out. Walter had called her out earlier and she was pissed and my mother, who wasn't? But she was not with him. Derek and Adrian both ease off when they see him, and Faith eases off too. Dwayne takes a breath.

"We can't find her, the guards say they saw her earlier, she was calling for a car, something about getting away from the chaos, I don't know, but she left, we need to barricade these doors, no one gets in, or out until cleared," He says, Derek nods, looking at Adrian, both nodding at each other. Wes is still at the table, standing behind it with his gun. Dwayne and Derek close the doors, locking them.

"They won't hold forever, but there is a way out, if we go outside, we can get to my office from there," Derek says. Dwayne nods. Adrian looks at me, as Derek does, stepping back.

"I took an oath to protect you, I will get you to safety, I promise," He says. I nod, I knew he would. He had been right beside me for two weeks, and I knew he wouldn't leave me. he would soon rather die than me get hurt. But something in me did not want to see him risk himself for me. Maybe I cared for him more than I cared to admit.
