"Well, the only time I see the kids is when they're in town and that's because their dad asks me to!" Susan yelled on the phone making it hard for Jessica not to lock her eyes on her lover

"Anyway, I just wanted to make sure you remember about tonight" she added much calmer now

Jessica sighed and left the room, leaving Susan alone to talk more privately with her daughter.

After a couple of minutes Susan walked on her lover, finding her reading her book and laying comfortably on the gray large couch, Jessica glanced up and straitened her glasses, "Is everything alright?" she asked and closed the book

"Everything's fine, don't worry"

"She's not letting the kids stay with you?"

"It's... complicated" Susan replied and finally took a seat next to her lover, snuggling into her.

"You know you can talk to me, right?" Jessica whispered and held Susan's head, kissing her

"My relationship with Eva has always been complicated and you know that, I don't think there's much to talk about"

"Is there something I can do?"

"With this hand? All wrapped around, I don't think so" Susan joked, making Jessica chuckle

"Stop trying to get me to bed"

"Jess," Susan said and looked at her, "I wanna talk with you about something"

"That sounds serious," Jessica replied with a chuckle

"Eva's new partner doesn't know about us"

"Well, I'm surprised she didn't tell him"

"It's not something Eva would discuss without me giving her permission and giving the fact that this relationship is something new, I suggest we keep it a secret"

"Sue, I can go home. I really don't have to be here tonight"

"But I want you here with me"

"Come on, they are your kids, you should spend the night alone with them"

"Jess, I really want you here with me," Susan said and locked her eyes with Jessica's

The blonde woman sighed and a soft smile appeared on her face, "Alright then," she whispered, "So we're just two good friends?" she asked and laughed

"Exactly," Susan replied and leaned closer to kiss her

"What are you doing here?" Jessica asked her lover the minute she walked into the kitchen

"God, I don't know" she replied and drank her whole glass which was filled with whiskey

"Hey," Jessica whispered angrily and rushed to her side, she took the glass, "Getting drunk is not gonna help anyone"

"I'm just..." Susan sighed and finally looked at her, "I'm trying to make everything perfect for her and still I get the feeling that it's not enough"

"Sue, relax, everything IS fine and you're doing a great job, she's having a good time, Jack and Miles as well"

"Are they?"

"Of course, they are, what's gotten into you?" she said and grabbed her lover's hand, "Honey, you are enough for them. They all love you and care about you and Eva more than anyone"

"She does?"

"Yes and Ian's a great guy"

"I know he is"
