The weekend. Giselle's favorite time of the week.
With sunlight shining on her face, she stirred awake in her empty apartment. Yawning tiredly as she stretches her arms, Giselle reaches for her phone, cracking her eyelids open.
"10:28 A.M.," she murmurs. That was awfully more sleep than usual. Not that she was complaining, of course.
Giselle rubs her eyes, cracking her bones. After brushing her teeth, she heads into the kitchen to make breakfast.
She was in the middle of flipping the pancakes when a loud ring shook away her drowsiness, causing her to miss.
Her pancakes. Giselle stares in disbelief at the golden brown disks that now laid on the ground. Gross.
"Five second rule!" the short, black haired boy yelps before diving under the kitchen table to retrieve the fallen rice cracker.
She smiles faintly at the memory before snapping out of it and retrieving her phone, which had stopped ringing.
Without checking the contact name, she dials the number which had accepted her call. "Hello?" Cupping her phone to her ear, Giselle listens for an answer as she picks up her ruined breakfast, tossing them into the trash can.
"..."
"Yah, whoever you are, you ruined my breakfast because you called me." she says irritatedly, not appreciating the fact that whoever the caller was had screwed up her breakfast. Giselle sighs, "I'm going to hang up..."
"... Hey? Is this a bad time?"
Oh, mother of pearl. Recognizing the voice, she mentally curses at herself for not checking the caller name. Giselle was glad that she wasn't in front of Jungwon now, her cheeks were red. "O-Oh, I was just making breakfast for myself," she nervously assures the boy.
"Sorry for ruining your breakfast," he answers, sounding completely sincere. "Are you free?"
Giselle couldn't stop her eyebrows from shooting upwards. "After 12 P.M. Why?" Was this the cliche moment where the main male lead was going to ask if they could hangout? She shushes her subconscious. Yeah, right.
"I was thinking if we could go to the library to work on the project?" he asks, sounding hopeful. Giselle almost drops her phone, before groaning. To think that her prediction almost came true.
"The library is closed, remember?" Supposedly, the library was closed off to all visitors for the next couple of weeks for renovations. Where they had gotten the money to do that, was the question.
She could hear his dejected sigh at the other end of the line. "Oh."
Frowning at his tone, she says, "How about my house instead?" she suggests, trying to cheer up the boy, without thinking through. Damn the consequences, Giselle couldn't let Jungwon stay crestfallen. "I could run down to the convenience store and buy some snacks." she adds. Food. The best bribing tool of all.
Immediately, her partner brightened. "Yeah! Good idea! I'll bring some too!"
"I'll text you my address later. I got to do some things. My house at 12:30?" she asks, eyeing the rest of the pancake batter in the mixing bowl.
"Okay!" And with that he hangs up.
Giselle gingerly places her phone on the counter and sighs. She just made her Saturday more complex, but if it was for Jungwon, then fine. He deserved the best.
