"Finally, it's over."
Jungwon says as he walks out the classroom with Giselle.
She had been oddly quiet ever since the beginning of class, only talking during their Social Studies presentation. Was she mad at him? Her silence unnerved him and Jungwon could only wonder why the girl seemed so... sad? Quiet?
Then, an idea popped into his mind. He turned towards his partner and beamed, "Hey, do you want to go to the arcade later?"
Giselle seemed startled by his words. To his disappointment, she did not reveal her sweet smile and kept her head down. It was so unlike of her to act so... moody.
Jungwon stopped and faced her, unconsciously grabbing her hand and making her face him. "Is there something wrong, Giselle? You seem so off lately. Are you okay? You can tell me..."
He meant those words. They both had been there for each other for what seemed like years, but was actually a month. She comforted him and stood by his side, and he owed her that.
The way she immediately plastered a faint smile on her face broke him. A fake smile shouldn't be lingering on a pretty face like hers.
"I'm fine, Jungwon..." she answers at last, looking down to the ground. Jungwon couldn't help but frown at her.
"C'mon, we should celebrate presenting our project," he insisted as they rounded the corner. They were almost at the cafeteria.
"I'm just not feeling it, Jungwon, okay!?"
Her outburst made Jungwon stop. He'd never heard her raise her voice at all and never would he expect her to. Sneaking a glance at her, he only just realized how sickly pale she was.
"Giselle... are you alright?"
The words escaped his mouth before he could comprehend what he did. Giselle provided him no answer and turned her head away.
"Did I do something wrong?"
His voice was deadly quiet as he stared at the girl, wounded by her actions. What was happening to her?
Giselle's head whipped around, "It's nothing... I'm just worried about something," she reassures him, "It's nothing major, I've just been through a lot lately."
Jungwon remained silent before instinctively hugging her, "If you're not comfortable with telling me, then don't. But I'll always be right here," he reminds her.
Her hair smelled like lavender, he thought before realizing that the thought was kinda stalkerish. He gently lets go of her and pokes his cheeks. He was not fond of doing aegyo, but some things require sacrifices.
"Can you go to the arcade with me?" he asks in a cute, bubbly voice. He squishes his dimpled cheeks to enhance the effect. Oh, the amount of pride he was sacrificing.
Giselle laughed. "If you insist," she smiles and Jungwon knew that the sacrifice was definitely worth seeing her real smile.

She just couldn't resist the urge to run up to one of the claw machines and smush her face against the glass. Even if she had rejected his offer at first.
It was as if her inner child had awakened. Giselle smiles at the cute plushies in the pit, just begging to be grabbed.
"Giselle!"
She turns around to see Jungwon beckoning her towards one of the machines. "I already paid," he says, jingling his pocket filled with tokens.
Frowning, Giselle shook her head, "I could've paid myself, I brought my wallet," she protested before he shoved coins into her hand.
