Gym was an ecstatically great class.

In which... Giselle did absolutely nothing.

Her body was getting 'fragile' and would get overwhelmed whenever she exercised too much. So much so that Dr. Seo had personally written a letter recently to the school, not disclosing any private information, only advising to not let Giselle participate in gym. Sigh.

Kicking nonexistent dust, she went to her usual spot: a comfy, dark corner hidden by the bleachers with possible spiderwebs where everyone forgot about her existence. You know, an ideal hiding spot.

No one noticed as she strode across the gym. At first, there were many whispers and speculations about her lack of activity in gym, but they all died down within the first week. After all, to them, Giselle was a nobody. A mere shadow.

She was minding her own business as usual, walking while doodling in her notebook with her pen, when someone grabbed her shoulders.

"Hey!" Jungwon popped into her peripheral view. He glances at the interior of the notebook she was doodling in before Giselle, flustered by his sudden appearance, snaps close to her notebook.

"Hi...?" she asks with uncertainty, "What are you doing here, Jungwon? God, did I go to the wrong class again?" she questions, slightly hyperventilating.

He laughs. "Did you forget? My gym class is coming to your gym class for the volleyball tournament," Jungwon gestures towards the stream of people pouring into the gym, "What team are you in?" he asks curiously.

"Oh. Uh... I actually don't play volleyball?" she answers awkwardly, scratching her head with her pen. Her heart raced as she took in his natural look in his gym outfit.

He frowns. "Why not? You don't like playing volleyball?"

Giselle hesitates before laughing nervously. He could not find out about that. "I get nauseous and sick whenever I exercise. The gym teacher gave me a pass for gym," she lies, what she hoped sounded smooth.

Jungwon gave her a skeptical look. "Right, okay..." he says slowly. "What do you do during gym then?"

Shyly, she raises her notebook, "I write and doodle?" Giselle mentally slapped her forehead. It sounded more of a question than a statement.

He showed his teeth as he gave her a cute smile. "That's cool!"

"Thanks? What court are you playing on?"

"Court 3. Why? You planning to watch me?" Jungwon teases her.

As she slowly turned red, Giselle tried to play it off cool, "Just curious. Who's on your team?"

He taps his chin, "Sunoo. There's Mirae and Yumi from Class 2B. And I think Minsoo and Haejun?"

"You don't know your team members' names?" Giselle laughs. "Wow, Jungwon."

"Yah, I don't talk or see them other than in gym class." he protests defensively.

"Bruh."

"Let's make a bet! You choose a team and if my team wins against them, I get to choose whatever you do for a day and vice versa," Jungwon suggests.

"Anything?"

"Anything," he confirms confidently, "Which team do you choose?"

Instantly, Giselle points at the best team, composed of all the greatest athletes in the grade. "That one."

He turns. "Seriously?" Jungwon asks, his mouth gaping at them. "Are you kidding me?"

She smiles, enjoying his astonishment. "Why? You scared to lose face?" she challenges.

The shocked expression on his face morphed into one of determination. "Fine, just watch my team win," he boasts, hands at his hips.

Giselle quirks an eyebrow and hits him (gently) with her journal. "Stop that, you look ridiculous,' she comments.

"I'll do what I want. The games are about to start. Talk to you later when my team wins!"

Watching Jungwon join his team on court, Giselle shakes her head and sits on the bleachers than her usual spot. Opening her journal, she starts tracing an outline delicately as she watches the coach whistle and the matches start.

Jungwon is serving first, she notes quietly somewhere in the back of her mind.

Her strokes started to form a more clear image of what seemed to be the volleyball match. Her side bangs swept into her face as she tilted her head in confusion but nonetheless decided to finish the drawing.

Giselle looks up to see Jungwon confidently bumping the ball to the other side of the court. His team seemed to be doing well. But when she glanced at the scoreboard, his team was tied with the other.

Her eyes met with Sunoo's. He waves at her enthusiastically in greeting and she smiles back at him in return before he returns back to the game.

Peering down at her sketch, she was surprised to see her pen actively drawing Jungwon's figure on the paper.

Now, that's real stalkerish, she thought to herself.

Beginning to draw the other figures in the scene, she observes every detail before her. Her pen made detailed curves and lines. This was decidedly the thing she did for the rest of the period.

And when the bell rang, she closed her notebook and headed to lunch.

"So unfair! That team cheated!" Jungwon sulks beside Giselle and Sunoo. He had lost the bet.

Sunoo rolls his eyes, "You're just bitter, Jungwon," he deadpans, causing Giselle to laugh, "Accept defeat already."

"Hey, I thought you would be on my side!"

Giving Jungwon the side eye, Sunoo examines his fingernails, "I could care less about the insignificant rules of the tortuous sport we call 'volleyball.' "

Giselle elbows him, "You lost the bet, Jungwon. Admit it." she concludes, a smile tugging on her lips.

"Fine. Wow, I never knew you were the one to gloat," Jungwon remarks.

"And I never knew you were the one to be a sore loser."

He grins, "Touché."

A few months earlier, Giselle would've never shot anything back at him. Now, she would. ANd Jungwon wasn't sure whether that was a good thing or a bad thing.

"You owe me."

"Make him do something embarrassing, Giselle. Like force him into a cat suit and record him meowing. Ooo. Or make him sing an aegyo song in public. That'll be something," Sunoo suggests, clapping his hands happily, a whole different demeanor from before.

"You're crazy."

He forms a heart with his right hand and his cheeks and winks at Jungwon shamelessly, "That's part of my charm."

Jungwon sighs, "Why did I suggest the bet again?" he asks, looking up at the ceiling.

"Can't wait to tell the hyungs and Ni-ki about your stupidity and how you're practically a slave to GIselle for a day."

"Shut up."

He feels a nudge to his left. "I'm calling in the bet this Saturday," Giselle says playfully.

Jungwon groans.
