2 weeks later.

She wished nothing more than to crash onto her bed and ignore the beeping alarm clock.

Alas, she had to go to school.

Groggily, Giselle rubbed her eyes and checked the time on her phone. 7:09 A.M. Around 1 hour to prepare for school.

An onslaught of notifications appeared on her phone, but she didn't bother to check it. There would be more time to do so later.

After changing, getting her backpack, and eating breakfast, Giselle proceeded to hurry to the school bus stop. She boards the bus and after securing a seat, she places her headphones around her ears. Her fingers tap to the rhythm on the window as she hums to the melody.

When she arrived at the school, she promptly took her headphones off and departed the bus. She headed for her locker... where she was greeted with a beaming Sunoo, who had dyed his hair back to black, and a bear crushing hug.

"Happy birthday, Giselle!" he exclaims merrily, jumping up and down.

She chokes, "Say what?"

Sunoo pulls away from her, letting her have a full view of his puzzled face. He frowns, "Is it not your birthday?"

Giselle blinks in confusion, racking her brain, "What day is it?" she asks.

"It's May 31st, silly," Sunoo answers, giving her the look. "Are you telling me that you don't even know when your own birthday is?"

Wow. She was officially 17 years old.

Averting eyesight with the sunshine, she scratches her head nervously, "Yeah?" Giselle strongly feared his reaction.

Sunoo gave her the side eye. "How could you forget your own birthday?" he asks incredulously.

"Uh... I was kinda busy...?" Under his murderous stare, Giselle stammered. Who knew that a ball of cuteness could become a demon the next second? "How did you even know that it was my birthday?"

Immediately, Sunoo's happy demeanor was back in a flash. He winks at her, "I got friends in high places," he says, smiling mysteriously.

"He asked me to check when your birthday was in your school file."

Heeseung, who seemed to appear out of thin air, leaned against the rows of lockers and shrugs, "Perks of being the president of the student council." he says nonchalantly.

"Why did you have to tell her You ruined the vibe, hyung!" Sunoo complains, "I was going for some mystery vibe-"

"You are not in a K-drama, Kim Sunoo. The others are already in their respective classrooms. You two should head to class now, there's 2 minutes till the bell and I am not covering for you if you two are late," he says sternly. Heeseung nods at Giselle, "Happy 17th birthday, Giselle."

"Thanks." Was all she could manage to say.

Sunoo tugs at her hand, "Come one, let's go to Algebra 2."

Giselle was totally not checking, but there were no signs of Jungwon at all. Not a single trace.

She wrung her hands anxiously as she walked with Sunoo to lunch, feeling somewhat disappointed in his absence. Then she scolds herself for feeling that way. It wasn't like she was Jungwon's girlfriend or anything.

He was probably doing some extracurricular activity or something. Nothing big. She was probably worrying for nothing, per usual.

Subconsciously, Giselle frowned as she and Sunoo turned from a different route to the cafeteria, "Uh.. Sunoo, where are we-?"
