Jungwon's phone beeped.

He was lying on the couch and eagerly picked his phone as if he had been waiting for it. And for some reason, he hoped it was Giselle.

They have been talking a lot more often recently. Not too long ago, they had visited a nearby mall just to binge-eat and have a mukbang. 'Cause why not?

kwongiselle

hey jungwon! are you free right now?

yjwon

yeah? why so?

kwongiselle

i need to talk to you about something. cafe at 2?

yjwon

sure!

A smile unknowingly blooms across his face. When it came to Jungwon that he was smiling like some idiot, he buried his head in his pillow, his face red from embarrassment.

He had been feeling this a lot. And he couldn't put down a finger on it. It was strange, but he couldn't deny that he kind of... liked it.

But enough of whatever that was. Jungwon wondered what she had to tell him. What was so important that she had to tell him in person?

He sighs. He would find out soon, no use of overthinking it. Jungwon rolls off his bed and checks the time, only to yelp in surprise when the digital clock reads 12:32.

Shoot, he must've overslept

He scrambles towards his closet, hastily pulling clothes out, trying to get ready for their hangout.

Jungwon found Giselle in a corner of the cafe, her head buried in a book. He watches her peruse it with great attention and flip to the next page.

He smiles mischievously when an idea pops into his mind. Sneakily, he crept behind the poor, unsuspecting girl and taps on her shoulder, letting out a quiet, yet high pitched noise.

Giselle jumps, startled, nearly chucking her book into his face if not for his fast reflexes. She scowls at the culprit. "What happened to saying hello? Must you do that to me?' she grumbles in irritation, tucking the hardcover book back into her bag, "Seriously, our generation is getting messed up."

Jungwon laughs. "Don't sound like such an ajumma, Giselle. If you forgot, you're part of this generation too," he reminds her.

She gives him a look. "Do you see kids these days? Everyone is like gaming and texting their friends instead of interacting with people in real life. And don't even get me started on how as the years go by as if every generation is getting shorter and more annoying. And dare I say, dumb."

"Kids these days." he mimics, only to earn a light slap against his arm. "You sound old."

Her cheeks become red. "Shush, I do not. You're older than me, ahjussi."

Raising an eyebrow, Jungwon unconsciously ruffles her soft, straight hair. "You're older than me mentally."

The girl froze. Realizing what he was doing, he withdraws his hand and coughs repeatedly, trying to change the topic, "Er- do you want something to eat?" Jungwon asks awkwardly, looking anywhere but at her.

"Maybe just yuja tea and a blueberry muffin, I had enough to eat this morning," Giselle replies coolly, her eyes fixated at the scenery outside the shop.
