have you ever been so hungover to the point where your headache has a headache? well, sadie has. she crossed a line last night. not that she was looking for excuses, but all of the lines were blurred to her, she didn't know which ones she was crossing.

the night before held a lot of revelations, it seemed. from dylan's confession that jeremiah wasn't who sadie thought he was, to the fact that her mother was a heavy alcoholic.

though both facts bothered her to no extent, the latter just affected her a lot more. was she just too young to see all the signs? how long has her mother had this problem? why wasn't she told the truth from the beginning? who else knew? were they ever planning to tell her?

a lot of questions swirled in her brain. her head was hurting and she was beginning to wonder if it was the hangover or all the overthinking.

this summer turned out to be a lot, she figured. from her dad finally selling the house, piper finding a girlfriend, belly and conrad and whatever was happening between them, the deb ball, and to jeremiah and her crossing the line of friendship.

oh, jeremiah. what the hell was she going to do with him?

"sadie! hey! sades!" belly's voice echoed through the backyard. the young conklin girl and steven's girlfriend, shayla made their way to sadie. the crawford girl greeted them with the best smile she could muster, her headache was getting worse. "what's up?"

"okay, okay, listen," belly sat on one of the chairs near sadie, shayla doing the same. both girls were smiling from ear to ear. "one of the girls from the debs quit," shayla told. sadie really liked steven's girlfriend. shayla seemed sincere, she tried her best to avoid the drama and was a pretty, straight-to-the-point girl. straightforwardness was something sadie really needed at the moment, especially after this summer.

"okay?" the crawford girl was confused. what did this have to do with her? sadie wondered what alternative motive belly had. "we suggested you take her place."

"but if you don't want to, that's fine too," shayla added sympathetically, giving her an out if she needed one. sadie was taken aback. she hasn't really thought about the deb ball, at all, in years. it was something she really wanted to do when she was younger. katherine and she used to talk about it all the time, but now that she's wasn't with them anymore sadie gave up on it. "i don't know."

"aw, come on sadie! you always wanted to do this!"

"that's enough susannah!" katherine exclaimed, giggling like a little girl. they were getting ready for the deb ball. susannah, as always, was going over the top with something, this time it was the amount of hair spray she had used on katherine's hair.

susannah also went over the top while they were shopping. katherine was trying to go easy, choosing simple outfits, ones that weren't all too expensive. laurel was on katherine's side, agreeing to her picks but susannah wasn't at all too pleased with them. 'the bigger, the better' she'd say and then laurel would give in and agree with the blonde.

in the end, katherine spent way more money than she'd originally planned but susannah promised she'd pay all her expenses for the rest of their trip.

"j- just a bit more, here," the blonde sprayed more hairspray making katherine jump up from her seat to take the spray away from her. they giggled and laughed as everyone watched them like they were crazy. "susannah, that's enough!" she warned.

"here's the dress," laurel appeared next to them, carrying a dress on a hanger. "thank you, laur!" katherine smiled, sending her friend an air kiss, she took the dress and went to one of the dressing rooms. the two followed behind.

"your date arrived," laurel informed. they all laughed. katherine's date, jamie, was one of the boys that were working at the country club for the summer. it was a last-minute thing and she just desperately needed a date. jamie was kind enough to agree.

jamie was a year younger than katherine and obviously had a crush on her all summer. susannah suggested that he'd be a perfect candidate for a last-minute date, and she was right. susannah was always right.

"maybe you should give him a chance," she suggested. they all laughed, again. katherine was beginning to feel bad for all the laughing at his expenses. "don't be mean!"

"okay, okay," the blonde put her hands up in surrender. pulling away the curtains, katherine exited the dressing room, wearing the most beautiful white dress they'd ever seen. "zip me up, please."

laurel nodded her head. the brunette turned around and laurel helped her zip up her dress. "seriously, katy, this is a perfect place to find a future husband." she returned to the dressing room, getting closer to the mirror she fixed the dress, "i'm not here to find a husband, susannah."

the blonde got closer, looking at her friend through the mirror, "you often find things when you're not looking for them." they all chuckled. who knew susannah could see the future.
