Bahari is Shell's spirit animal. Before he became a spirit animal, he was Oceanography (the study of the sea) and he was studying a coral reef, when a shark attacked him. Bahari did get saved, but he still died of blood loss. Bahari was a father of two kids(twins) and was married for 10 years. So, Bahari was assigned to Shell, because she wanted to be an Oceanographer too and because Shell almost died because of a shark too. Bahari had stopped that from happening and loves Shell like a daughter. Bahari sees Shell as a daughter, because he sees his daughters in her. Bahari loves to take Shell to his old favorite spots, he would research for his job. Bahari is super overprotective of Shell. If Shell is having a bad day, Bahari will take her to the beach and he would take her to her favorite spot.
