"What did you guys talk about?" Bekah's mind flooded back to Devon's bedroom where they sat on the edge of the bed alone but without touching each other this time.

"He wants to give up on clearing his name. He thinks it would be easier. Especially for Robert." She was honest with Bianca. It felt like that was the only person she was being honest with recently. Because even to herself she was not being honest when it came down to it.

"Did you tell him why that was stupid?" Bianca watched as Bekah stared into her locker and slowly drifted away into her own mind.

The school bell caused Bekah to jump as she shut her locker door before staring at Bianca "I didn't. I don't think he cares anymore if I am being honest."

"It's not nice to talk about somebody behind their back, Becks." Bekah jumped and turned around to see Devon standing behind her with his hands gripping onto the handles of his backpack "Well I gotta dash. Have fun in first period!" Bianca intentionally bumped Bekah with her shoulder as she skipped off with a cheesy grin on her face.

"Ready for first period?" Bekah raised an eyebrow at the taller male in front of her.

"We don't have the same first period though." Devon chuckled and nodded his head "Yes, but if I am going to be unable to get away from you twins then I thought I should embrace the friendship. Besides I think it's funny to see everyone stare in shock." Devon admitted.

Bekah brought her bottom lip in between her teeth as she gripped onto her books and started to walk alongside Devon "It's funny that everyone thinks you're a killer?" Bekah didn't need to look at Devon to feel his eyes burning into her "Yep. I think people want to believe that it is me simply because I am new here and it's easier to believe somebody from out of town could have done it rather than somebody they have known for a while."

"Why do you move a lot? Your mom isn't in the military or in any sort of job that would move her right?" Devon shrugged.

"My anger issues." It was short and sweet and very clear he didn't want to talk on the matter any further.

"Have fun in first period, sweets." The nickname had caught Bekah off guard as she watched Devon walk away from her without another glance.

"Later." Her response was late as Devon was already down the hallway and could not have heard her.

Devon's mood swings had made Robert hate him when the twins had first learned of who he was. Now Robert sat there considering Devon as a friend instead of another face in the hallways. Robert wasn't an idiot either. Robert knew where Devon was the night of the party. The night Harrison was murdered. That's why he had agreed to help his sister clear the young man's name. But, Robert knew it meant something to Bekah to try and conceal what had happened in the night of the party. Robert also knew that he couldn't for certain say what happened in that room that night but he could only imagine as he was a teenager himself and he knows what alcohol does for the younger generation.

"Hey man." Devon raised an eyebrow and stared over at Robert "Are you going to help us clear your name or not? Bekah and Bianca are not giving this up." Devon scoffed with a small smirk playing on his lips.

"Seriously? Are you into this Robert?" He stopped to think if he had ever heard Devon use his name before "I don't really know. I know means something to Bekah and I want to help her the best I can." He answered sheepishly.

Robert knew he wanted to help Bekah but at the same time he wondered if this would land them all  into some sort of trouble that he knew they couldn't risk. Devon nodded slowly and hoist his backpack further up onto his shoulders.

"But hey we can always talk about it later. Just keep your head down." Devon grunted at that last sentence. It was something his mother always told him when they would approach a new school- it was her way of telling him not to start any fights.

"Fucking watch it killer." Sara rammed her shoulder into Devon's arm as she stormed by him "You are just like those stupid twins." She muttered as she continued to walk down the halls.

Devon's eyes widened as he reached out and grabbed Robert by the loop on his backpack and yanked him back by his side "I have seen that bracelet before." Robert adjusted his backpack as he raised an eyebrow towards the last statement his friend had said.

"What bracelet? And can we continue walking because our next class starts.... Now." The boys both got a crazed look on their face as they darted down the hallway trying to hit their first class on time.
