"Hello little raven," Regulus smiled at his niece as she walked into his and Severus's shared quarters. His partner was getting some potion ingredients with Lily and Alice; the latter having been released from the hospital wing by Pomfrey the same day.

"Hello Uncle Reg," Cordelia smiled at him, walking into the quarters and propping herself on the couch.

"Not that I don't love a visit from my favorite relative," Regulus started, staring at the girl with dry amusement. "However I could've sworn you were supposed to be learning about politics with Grandfather?" He questioned, knowing the girl wouldn't normally miss her lessons.

"He let me out early after Madam Bones asked him for a meeting about some personal business," Cordelia informed her uncle, swinging her legs back and forth in a manner she hoped looked adorable and not at all suspicious. "So I decided, while Neville and his Dad are doing their Longbottom male bonding, Uncle Sirius and Uncle Remus are getting check-ups from Madame Pomfrey; I'd come to visit my lonely, semi-anti-social Uncle," She smirked slightly.

"Where is your father in all of this?" Regulus questioned his niece as he reluctantly snapped his fingers and politely asked an elf for a tea tray. "I can't imagine my elder cousin not asking you to hang out or do something with him," Regulus mentions, knowing that James would ask his 'baby fawn' for a cuddle or to do something together.

"He's on his way, he had to grab something for me and this gives me a chance to talk to you," Cordelia admits with a small smile.

"What could you possibly need to talk to me about that your father couldn't be in the room with you?" Regulus questioned with a small frown. He hoped she wasn't trying to get advice on something adult-ish or anything, he didn't want to have Lily or James after his head.

"You're fighting with Professor Snape," Cordelia bluntly stated. "Dad will be biased but it's clear you need to talk with someone about it." She gave him a judging look.

"You are a little too blunt for my taste little raven," Regulus didn't directly answer, avoiding eye contact by looking at the bookshelf behind her. "Everything between Severus and I is fine," He lied, causing Cordelia to give him her best 'bullshit' look. "You are way too young to have mastered Sirius's look." He adds, pouting slightly.

"Uncle Reg, please just talk to me a bit," Cordelia pouted, giving her best puppy eyes. "You need to talk and work this out," Cordelia firmly stated, knowing how upset her Uncle was over it. "Besides, I'm perfectly capable of talking about this," Cordelia added after his hesitant look.

"Stubborn young woman," Regulus muttered before clearing his throat and looking at his niece. "Fine, I am feeling very upset because while I knew that he was slightly bitter; he would've never been that rude to you or other students and he almost sent Sirius to his death; not to mention how rude and irritating he was to you," Regulus explains.

"Professor Snape lost a lot when you died," Cordelia started, giving him a look that he understood all too well; compassion and understanding. "His actions aren't right but after losing you; who would he have in his corner to talk to or grieve with? Aunt Cissa could only do so much with Luci-bastard on her case, Dumbledore practically forced him into a job he hates so he could avoid jail and Mum died not more than a year after you," Cordelia laid out the facts. "Professor Snape from what mum told me, was bitter as a child, and his precious people meant the world to him; and losing all of them must've hurt him." Cordelia compassionately stated.

"Even if he was grieving, that gave him no right to hurt my brother;" Regulus retorts, feeling his anger start to fester. "If he had really loved me then he wouldn't have attempted to murder my brother and his husband along with constantly badmouthing James and in addition you;" Regulus glared at the floor and Cordelia let out a hmm sound, realizing where part of the problem was.
