"Alright, I think that I'll read again," Ron states, grabbing the book from Sirius's outstretched hand. He knew that the next chapter would probably be when they got to Hogwarts and he was just happy that they'd have some calm chapters until the whole 'goblet of fire' fiasco."Ron is voluntarily reading..." Ginny trailed off, glancing at her brother with a teasing smirk. "The world most definitely is ending," She added, ignoring the pillow thrown at her by her brother.
"Fuck off Ginny!" Ron mumbled, ignoring his father's glare since he somehow heard him. Luckily for everyone involved, Molly Weasley did not hear the words uttered by her son, she would kill him.
"Both of you knock it off," Percy says to his siblings, giving them his scary 'I am head boy listen to me' look. Rumor has it that the look scared one Adrian Pucey so bad he almost quit Quidditch.
"Sorry Perce/Sorry Percy," Ginny and Ron apologized at the same time, avoiding each other's eyes as Ron picked up the book to read the next chapter.
"Abroad the Hogwarts Express" Ron read out, causing many to relax. Cordelia's years at Hogwarts didn't get utterly batshit until the end so they would be fine and wouldn't have any heart attacks until later.
The rest of Cordelia's Holidays passed by in a blur of worry, confusion, and preparation. If she thought Sirius and Remus were protective before – after the cup proved that she hadn't seen anything yet. She wasn't allowed to leave the house by herself the rest of the summer and even if she was with Neville, an adult had to come. Their lessons doubled and they ended up completing all of the year four curriculum and reviewing the first three, plus advanced defense, dueling, and self-defense.
Cordelia had also completed her catch-up lessons with Cedric and had moved on to her lessons with Sirius about the Black and Potter families. He was one of the only ones that knew all of the family things.
"I'm so glad that you are the one teaching Cordelia this stuff, just like we wanted," Lily told Sirius, squeezing James's hand while they gave Sirius the most appreciative look they've ever given him. "Despite everything, you have kept up with her teachings and protecting her, both of you have and we appreciate you being her parental figures," Lily finished, wiping a stray tear from her ye. She was devastated she missed so much of her daughter's life, especially when Cordelia needed someone.
"We will always be there for her.," Sirius promised, looking at Cordelia with a serious look on his face, he knew Cordelia had abandonment issues and sometimes she was worried that they would all leave her so he knew that he needed to tell her as often as possible that he wasn't leaving her.
"I love you Uncle Sirius, Uncle Remus," Cordelia responded, sending them her own thankful look. She loved those two like her other parents because they essentially were. She thought they were the best surrogate and godparents a girl could have.
