TW: Blood, Gore, Major Character Death :(
Izuku's mouth shaped into a silent scream. He couldn't make a sound.
He looked down and saw his hands slowly disintegrating away, blowing away in the heat and wind of he battle.
Everything was so slow. It's almost as if he saw every frame, every detail.
It was so bright and beautiful. Even in the midst of fighting, rays of sunlight was still shining through the skylights.
He was able to see the clouds in deep detail and watch the birds flapping fervently against the currents of wind.
Even the small curls of the branches on the corners of the windows and the distant skylines and mountain lines were visible.
He felt a dull ache spread through his body and felt unbelievably and unbearably dry.
Is this how it felt to die?
It was oddly peaceful.
Why?
He didn't feel like fighting anymore. Even as he silently stared at his ashes falling into the floor, he was in tranquility.
He no longer had to fight.
Why?
Is he going to die here?
Why?
Is it okay?
Why?
He could no longer feel the pressure of the deadly fingers against his jugular.
Izuku slowly looked up to see Killua staring silently, hand outreached slightly as if he was going to help somehow even though he was meters away.
He was still drenched in blood.
Izuku felt himself begin to fall over, and he realized; he doesn't want to die.
Why?
Why?
Why was he going?
Will anyone care? Would they be upset? It doesn't matter. He'll be gone anyways.
But he saw the hopeless expression etched on Killua's face and the silent tears trailing through his blood encrusted cheeks.
He was such a good brother, even if it was for a short amount of time.
He taught him so many things. And what had Izuku done for him?
Pain..
Ah. Look how hopeless I am, Izuku thought as a small smile formed on his face and tears rolled down his face.
I'm useless.
And I'll die that way.
But I'm so happy Killua was there for me, Izuku thought.
He could feel the warmth rapidly retreating from his neck and knew that he was already mostly gone.
"Thanks," Izuku mouthed silently as his vision rapidly came to an end and faded out.
I'm gone.
—
"No!" Killua yelled as he saw his very own brothers dust hit the floor and scattered seamlessly through the air, dispersing like a million shells in the sea.
Why?
He didn't even have time to say goodbye!
He was taken!
He was taken...
Killua felt himself fill up with rage yet again, but this time, a new kind of pain was laced in.
