They ended up having to put Ochako under more anesthesia a giving her a small surgery because she accidentally opened many wounds.

Bakugo was immediately sent back to the school with an escort. Aizawa and All Might were absolutely furious.

The rest of class 1A just sat around the waiting room in complete dread.

Soon, a nurse walked over to Killua. She gave him pitying look.

"Killua is your name, correct?" She asked with a soft voice, as if she was trying to not break him. He nodded, a little too tired to care what she about to say next. "The doctor says that your friend is officially stabilized and he is slowly letting him off of anesthesia. You are now allowed to go see him."

Killua jumped out of his seat.

See Gon? He was sure he was dreaming. Even if he could, would it even be a good idea to see him in the first place.

But Killua was almost tired of saying it was his fault.

Shot doesn't matter. He just needs to see his Gon.

"Take me to him."

The nurse smiled and nodded softly, beckoning him to follow her down the hallways that smelled of antiseptics and tears. Killua was whipping his head left and right, trying to find the door with Gon's name plastered next to it.

Eventually, the nurse turned to the left and motioned towards the door.

"Try not to wake him up, dear. It's honestly amazing that he is recovering so well. He was one fraction of a hair away from getting brain damage. He's lucky it was only a few fractures."

She smiled as though that made things any better. Killua just hurried through the door anyway.

He almost regretted it.

Gon wasn't breath recognizable as his head was almost entirely wrapped in bandages except for his face. His face had its own small stitches and healing lacerations littered around his cheeks and forehead. His nose was also bandaged in a small strip.

It have Killua intense flashbacks of Gon after he blew himself up.

He squeezed his eyes closed as tears began to run down his cheeks. His legs wobbled and he fell to the floor.

It was so pathetic to him.

He knew it was pathetic..

He picked himself off of the ground and wiped his tears. There was no point in sobbing over something that was his fault anyways.

The nurse smiled painfully and closed the door as quietly as she could.

Killua moved to sit next to Gon and gingerly took his hand in his own.

He must be in so much pain..

Killua woke up to feel a slight shift in Gon's breathing.

He fell asleep?

He raised his head and realized that he was sleeping right on Gon's chest, still holding his hand.

He sat up, brushing through his hair with his fingers.

How long had he been out?

He squeezed Gon's hand as his wandered around the room, looking for a clock.

He squeezed back.

He squeezed back?

Huh?

Killua frantically looked at Gon. He was still asleep.

Killua tried to write it off as his imagination, but the heart monitor started to pick up speed.

Gon's eyelids began to flutter.

"Gon?"

It's so warm. There are so many colors.

Swirls of blues and reds and greens and purples bobbed in and out of Gon's vision.

Muffled sounds of birds and leaves rustling filled his mind.

He suddenly felt a squeeze on his hand. He felt as if he was pulled ip from boiling water. A squeeze? It seemed a bit distressed. He squeezed back as a way to say, "I'm here. Don't forget."

So silly.

There was steady sound beating. It was getting louder? The sound was unpleasant. It sounded sad almost.

He heard a soft voice call his name over loud beating.

Much, much better. Such a beautiful voice.

He recognized it.

It called again.

Why did it sound sad?

He tried calling out to it.

"K-Killua?"

That's right! He knows it's name!

"Killua!"

Suddenly, bright lights blared through Gon's vision and the smell of medicine and antibiotics filled his strong nose.

Where was he?

Is Killua all right?

The last thing he remembered... a flood of memories washed into Gon's head.

Right. It was just painful thinking about it.

He heard crying. That's not right.

He tried calling out again.

He couldn't sit up. It was like he was glued to the bed, wherever he was.

Then it hit him.

Was Killua alright? Did he need help?

Gon began thrashing around, trying to sluggishly knock the IVs off of his wrists, but he was stopped by something warm all over his body.

He was being hugged. He recognized the touch.

Killua.

He tried to wrap his arms around him too, but his arms wouldn't move.

He could feel Killua crying against his shirt. The warm tears felt like they were burning holes into his skin.

"Killua," he croaked out. "Please don't cry."

Ughhhh I hated this chapter :(((

But only bc it was so bad lolz I'm glad they reunited

I just suck at writing emotions. And I had to write a half unconscious person so.... (At least I have health problems so I know what it's like waking up from passing out I guess 🦍)

Yep this is my least fave chapter 👍

And I don't think we are anywhere near close to where I want this story to go ☹️
Like I still gotta find out how they got here in the first place and I'm the one writing it🥲
