Gon was unfortunately too tired to stay awake for long, and right before the doctors were able to arrive in the room, he passed out yet again.

But Killua was very content. He was happy to see that Gon was feeling better. Sure, they didn't have Alluka to help, but he was recovering just fine on his own.

For the next few hours, Killua sat next to him and held his hand as Gon drifted in and out of unconsciousness.

He just seemed too exhausted to stay awake.

Eventually, Aizawa and All Might came to tell Killua that the class was going back to the dorms.

Killua just stayed in his seat and flat out refused to move.

"You'd have to drug me and haul me into the back of a van all tied up to get me to move," Killua answered to their pleads. "And here's a warning: Drugging me doesn't work. I'm resistant."

Aizawa and All Might just shared a look and Aizawa agreed to stay at the hospital just in case. He needed to be monitored anyway.

So All Might left with the class and Killua stayed by Gon's side.

Gon did not wake up for the rest of the night, but he maintained healthy breathing and oxygen levels.

So Killua finally allowed himself to lay his head down next to Gon's side and succumb to his sleep.

Gon felt like he was being pulled out of deep, sluggish water.

Light was eating on his face and he could feel a slight pinching in his wrist. This time, he was able to sit up a bit even with the pain exerting on his head and ribs.

A nurse was quietly working on changing a needle in his IV, making sure the tube was connected and changing the liquid.

When she finally looked up, Gon opened his mouth to thank her but she put her index finger on her lips.

She motioned towards Gon's side and smiled.

Gon looked down to see Killua sleeping peacefully beside him, still holding his hand.

Was he there all night?

Gon smiled and squeezed Killua's hand lightly before turning his gaze to window next to him.

Bordered around his window were bright trees that shook slightly on the wind. In the distance, Gon could see the silhouettes of forests and mountains reaching up to the swirling clouds above.

Gon looked in front of him to see the clock.

9:00 am.

Maybe he should wake Killua up?

"Gon..." He heard Killua mumble next to him. He was about to tell him good morning, but realized that he was still asleep.

Gon's mind became fuzzy when he realized that Killua was dreaming about him. It was adorable!

"Gon..."

He turned to look at Killua's serene face again.

"I love you."

It was almost like a jolt went up Gon's body. What did he mean? What was he talking about?

It was so quiet and drawn together so Gon could've miss heard.. right?

Gon lightly shook Killua hand and began running his other hand through Killua's fluffy hair.

He needed to wake up before he said anything else that's oils completely stop Gon's heart.

Killua lifted up his head and leaned into Gon's touch.

"Killua!" Gon whispered. "Wake up!"

Killua's eyes shot open and he stared at Hon in shock.

"Your awake?!"

Gon belted out his hearty laugh.

But Killua's began to water, and he hugged Gon closely, careful not to disrupt any cords or casts.

"It isn't funny! I missed you, stupid!"

Gon continued laughing and hugged Killua back, ignoring the pain of moving his limbs.

A week later, Gon was finally discharged and allowed to go back to school.

Killua never left the hospital while Gon was there and refused to eat when Gon wasn't eating.

Gon spent all of his hours awake with Killua and Killua stayed with him no matter what.

The doctors were astonished at how quickly and efficiently Gon had healed and were almost hesitant on writing him off, but they sent him home with painkillers just in case.

Gon ended up meeting Inko when they were about to leave the hospital.

She wanted to meet him and see who Killua was such good friends with.

Gon apologized to her about her having to put up with Killua and thanked her for keeping him off the streets and fed.

They immediately hit it off and she welcomed Gon to come to her apartment for dinner whenever they wanted to.

She refrained from telling Gon that he reminded her of Izuku.

After they left, Killua finally relaxed.

"Why did you apologize for me? That kind of hurt."

Killua made a pouty face and crossed his arms, bumping into Gon and making him stumble. Gon pushed back and laughed.

"Sorry Killua! She just seemed so nice and your so rude sometimes! I was worried you might have caused some trouble.."

Gon smirked slyly in Killua's direction, waiting for a response.

Killua just sighed and turned to Gon.

"Not as much as you. I usually have to clean up your messes!"

They giggled as they finally made it to the front gate of UA.
