Chapter Forty Two

Before he could react, he felt an overwhelming amount of power, and it was not coming from Gon's fight.
It was a violent bloodlust from the audience.
Killua, without hesitation, jumped the wall and landed right next to an equally aware Gon. They had their fighting stances ready.
Before Killua had jumped in, Gon used his Heaven's Arena trick and pushed Tokoyami out without one second though as to reduce collateral damage.
"You ever figured out what the words say?" Gon asked under his breath. The audience was confused but quiet as they were curious and had no clue. "I have a sneaking suspicion that this is connected."
"Its, 'Deplete your power and give it all to me. Wither away.'" He chuckled a bit. "It seems to be working. I passed out."
Gon gave him a short incredulous glance before cringing under another power surge.
"Gon! Killua! Get away now!"
They heard Aizawa's voice boom at them, but they stayed put. They were already evacuating the guests and gathering up the students. They had obviously felt the bloodlust too and read it as a villain attack.
They continued to ignore the shouts from the teachers and stood their ground as the aggressor dressed in a black cloak jumped down from the concrete stands.
They raised their fists as Gon began to shout.
"What do you want?"
The figure chuckled a deep, distorted laugh and tilted his head.
Before Killua could tell Gon to stand down, he launched forward, but in a disturbing turn of events, the figure completely disappeared.
There was no presence.
And suddenly, he popped up again behind them.
Killua switched positions and buried himself deep in thought as he watched the distant figure.
He actually disappeared. There was only one possibility. He could teleport. There was no way this man wasn't connected to the world flops.
But before he could ask, he noticed another, weaker presence behind him. One he recognized. With a small peek, he saw a young girl's body roped up with her mouth duct-taped.
Alluka.
Without thinking of the consequences, Killua's eyes turned red. There was no emotion set behind his eyes.
He had flipped his kill switch.
Springing forward at the aggressor at lighting speed, he aimed a kick toward the robed figure only to immediately collapse. He struggled to his feet but was left kicked down by the man.
Gon yelled out to Killua, but the man activated his teleportation and made Gon sink away, out of sight.
Killua weakly reached forward, only for the man to step on his fingers with his heavy boot and a sickening snap. The young boy cried out in pain, trying to withdraw his hand.
The man tsked and walked over to Alluka, deftly kicking her in the side and allowing for a small whimper to be left out through the tape over her mouth.
"You... leave her alone.."
"Oh? Why would I do that?"
"I'll kill you," Killua snarled, letting out weak bloodlust.
"You see," the man knelt in front of Killue, observing his hand. "As long as you're near me, all you'll be is weak. I'd like to see you try."
He picked up Alluka by her hair, shaking her like a ragdoll.
"Tomorrow, if you'd like to see her alive, come to the dock near Takoba Municipal Beach Park. Don't bring your friends."
Killua glared up at him as he disappeared yet again.

After Gon had found Aizawa and All Might again, he took them back to the arena where they found Killua passed out with a pool of blood around his damaged fingers.
They had Recovery Girl give him a small kiss on the cheek then they returned to the campus and put Killua back in his bed. Gon sat on his bed next to Killua.
Why was he so useless to him? He just let that man wreck him.. And he sensed Alluka. She was suffering.
Gon moved a bit when he heard Killua stir around in his sleep. He sat up and waited for him to wake up.
Killua bolted off of his pillow and searched the room with wide eyes. His eyes locked on Gon's in wonder.
"I'm... back at the dorm? Where's Alluka?"
Gon's face darkened and he looked down at the floor.
Killua stared at his hands. He already knew.
Tears began to slip out of the folds of his eyes.
He covered his eyes and wept, his scars already beginning to sting. Everything was his fault! Nothing could ever be happy or pure around him!
He was finally feeling better. He hadn't cut in weeks. He was sure everything would be fine. Alluka would be fine. Gon would be fine.
He would be fine.
