Once the door closed, he wastes no time and lifts you in his arms.

"D-Diluc! You don't have to carry me," you said.

He doesn't respond.

He places you on a nearby chair and leaves you alone momentarily. You take this chance to look around. It was empty; Diluc had sent everyone home earlier, because this day was supposed to be the only day, he ever gets a break from work.

Diluc comes back with a wet washcloth and a roller bandage.

He only kneels in front of you, and carefully lifts up your injured leg from under your knee. "Be prepared, this might sting." He spoke.

Without giving you time to process what he'd just said, he lightly dabs the wound, and you yelp. "D-Diluc! That hurts..."

"Sorry..." he mutters. He dabs the wound a little more carefully, and then he cleans the outside.

He was quiet, too quiet. He was just silently tending your wound with that poker face of his that you still couldn't manage to read. You couldn't bare this silence.

"D-Diluc...?" You speak up, anticipating for him to say something, but he stays silent. He then grabs the bandage and starts wrapping it around your knee, which was only starting to make you overthink.

Perhaps a minute went by — maybe two, of Diluc wordlessly wrapping your wound. He looked like he had something in his mind, but he didn't want to say it.

The truth is, he did. He had some sort of guilt of this — maybe anger, maybe irritancy. He's aware that he might be acting a little too dramatic, but what if something different had happened?

"A-Are you mad at me...?"

What if this was a far more dangerous situation you'd been caught in? You showed up injured, needing support from someone else with a wound that might need stitching... but what if you'd shown up with grave injuries?

"Diluc-"

What if you'd just... not shown up at all? And even just the thought of that set him off.

"I've told you to be more careful out there."

He cut you off in harsh tone, yet he still watched his volume. "If I were there, you wouldn't have been injured. Whatever you were doing, you should've come to me before you've went out."

You flinched at the sudden rebuke. He's never talked to you like this before. You were always a quite sensitive person — especially when people yell at you. So naturally, you were taken aback.

Diluc immediately froze, regretting the way he snapped at you. He didn't mean to come off like this, and he sure as hell wasn't expecting himself to say anything.

He looks up at you, and is met with a startled expression on your face. "Y/n... I'm sorry." He says.

You look away, "It's alright." you hesitate.
