As if you and  Diluc couldn't get enough of each other, here you were... making out in the rain. Did you guys care that you were in public? No — it's not like you were out doing it in front of everyone. More or so, you were hiding in an alleyway. Besides, who would still be outside in these conditions?

You've always fantasized about it, and read about it in books too. Yet, you've never thought it would've happened to you. It wasn't after the thunder became more frequent that you mutually agreed to get inside.

"What about Jean?" You asked. You don't think you would be able to look her in the eyes without feeling horrible. After all, you did tell her to go for it."

"I doubt she's at the tavern." He replied. "The door is locked, so it's most likely she went home instead of waiting out in the rain."

"Alright..." you said, eyes meeting before both quickly looking away. "So... shall we get going?" He cleared his throat before speaking. "Oh, of course." You replied, just as awkwardly as he did. Well, it wasn't that it was awkward, it was just the fact that the air was excruciatingly thick.

"Hold on, allow me—"

He took off his coat, lifting it up and sprawling it out above your heads like an umbrella. The gesture made you flustered, and as did he. "Thank you..." you said quietly. "It's no big deal." He replied, trying to keep his cool. But what made you guys more flustered, was the fact that his coat wasn't large enough for you to stand at least a few feet away from him.

Which means, you had to stick close to him in order to keep coverage— which you didn't really seem the point of trying to cover up from the rain since you were both already wet.

"Ah, sorry..."

"Nothing to apologize for..."

Your back constantly brushed against him as he towered behind you. It was inevitable to avoid his touch in this situation, so there was no point in trying to apologize every time your back fully pressed against him.

After what felt like forever through the unbearable silence, you both finally stopped at the front door of the tavern. You stepped aside, allowing him to bring down his coat to search for the tavern keys.

You stood there quietly, his jaw tensing at the fact that his keys weren't in his coat. He then threw his coat over his shoulder, groaning in annoyance as he dug his hands in his pockets to feel out for them.

"Uhm, is it this key?"

Diluc stops his movements once he looks up to you holding the item in your hand. They were on the floor; he must've dropped them sometime when he was here. He clears his throat with a light tint of pink on his cheeks before taking them.

"Thank you."

Once he unlocks the door, he let's you in first, hand brushing on the small of your back as you walked through the door.

"We can stay in here until the rain stops. I'll walk you home once it does."

He hangs his coat on the standing rack before advising that he'll be right back and going upstairs.
You place your elbows on the bar counter, getting lost in thought. It was a little weird now that you both were fully aware of your feelings towards each other, and you don't know how to initiate the conversation about it.
