S n a p

You freeze. Your heart beating out of your chest when you look down to realize you've stepped over a twig.

  "Who's there!" One of the fatui members say. Another one joining, they both start making their way towards your direction. Fear overtaking you, your heartbeat was the only thing you could hear. Your heart thudded against your chest and your hands shook. Your vision blurred and your stomach churned. You were now finding it difficult to breath, trying to take big breaths, only to feel your lungs shortened from air.

You were having a panic attack

  All of a sudden, you felt a hand harshly pulling you by your forearm, forcing you to start running. It was  only a short run, until you were pulled into a cave out of their sight. Heart still pounding and having a hard time breathing, you were still in the state of a panic attack.

"Hey, it's me. You're safe."

  The voice went right through your ears as you panicked. You frantically looked around you, still afraid and in shock.

  "You're alright. Look at me — you're safe." The voice enunciates, however your attention was now on trying to take in on what just happened and where you were. You place a hand over your chest as you could feel yourself hyperventilate.

"Hey — look at me"

  Seeming there was no other way to grab your attention, a gloved hand gently grabs your chin and makes you look up whilst another hand was placed on your shoulder.

"Easy now, you're safe and secure."

  Your eyes follow to look up, and you're met with familiar red orbs. It was Diluc, and his eyes showed a hint of concern mixed with tensity. He has the basic knowledge of being able to help someone with these types of things, but he's never been in said situation before. Naturally, he was still worried if things could go off ends, but he remained calm.

Once you process that it was Diluc, your breathing grows steadier, and your heartbeat starts slowing down.

"That's it, I'm here. Everything is alright. You're alright. Deep breaths now." He says in a reassuring and calm tone. You take deep breaths while looking into his eyes, finding comfort in them. "Are you okay now?" He asks. You slowly nod.

A short moment passes until he looks at his hand, to which was still holding your chin. Promptly, he puts his hands down while clearing his throat. He backs up a little, putting a respectable distance between you before turning his back on you.

"You're lucky I just happened to be in the area. Every time we meet, you always seem to need some sort of aiding." And just like that, he's back to his usual self, talking to you in a scolding but monotone manner. "You need to start being more aware of where your headed. Especially during this time. It's past dusk already." Diluc turns back at you with his eyes closed. "I won't always be there for help like times such as these. So - "

"I'm sorry..."

He stops talking and opens his eyes once you spoke. You were looking on the floor shamefully, hands resting in front of you. He couldn't help but feel a slight tug at his heart strings. You were panicking, and he should be more careful with you after you just went through that.
