Emmie

The rebellion.

Had this prince, to whom she now belonged, told the truth? Was he a rebel? An insurgent?

Did he want to put an end to slavery?

If I accompany him, does that mean I can become a rebel? If I want that? She liked the idea. She felt so powerless. But maybe she wasn't.

Emmie sat in the garden of the small estate and enjoyed the warmth of the last weeks of summer. Here everything smelled different than in the mountains. Sighing, she lay down on the grass and looked at the sky. Would she return home one day?

No. The thought was silly. She was tied to the prince and she would be for the rest of her life. But maybe she could visit Mads someday? If the prince told the truth, surely he wouldn't deny her this?

... IF...

"Emmie." Peyo's soft voice pulled her out of her thoughts. He sat down next to her. "Here you are. Paula says lunch will be served soon."

"Lunch." She sighed. "They treat us like guests or family members. I don't trust the whole thing. I'm waiting for someone to jump out of the bushes, shout 'surprise', and force us to work."

"I'd rather they treat me like part of their family than a slave. Whether it's them being hypocritical or not", Peyo murmured, lying down next to her. "Do you miss your parents?"

Emmie laughed softly. "A bit, yes. My mother is the Alpha of the pack. She's not a good Alpha and she's not the best mother. She wanted to sell my best friend to the slave market because she thought he was too weak for our pack. My best friend managed to escape, but the soldiers took me away. Mom tried to protect me... Most of all, I miss my best friend. Mads. And you?"

Emmie turned her face to the elf. He smelled wonderful. She would have loved to press her nose into his neck. The sun enveloped his fine face in soft light. He looked beautiful. Almost cute.

"Of course, I miss my parent", he replied. "Very much. And my little brother. He is only one year old. He will soon be unable to remember me. He will forget me."

"I'm sorry."

"Me too."

The two lay in the soft grass for a while until their stomachs growled and they went back to the villa.

Julia

"What do you think about flying with me?" Josefine put her hands on her slim hips and grinned. They sat in the main room of the tent, and just had lunch. Elodie had been invited by Liam and was therefore not present. "You could ride on my back!"

Julia frowned. "Are you sure this is a good idea?"

"I think it's a great idea. We could fly together." Leopold grinned. "I'm sure you'd like it."

Hanno and Flora smiled and exchanged knowing glances. Peter also seemed amused.

"I'm faster than you, Leo!" The dragon girl stuck out her forked tongue.

"You're a hooligan in the air", Fiete murmured. "If you want Juli to fly on your back, then you first have to learn to fly properly."

"I'm flying properly!" Outraged, Josefine showed her shark-like teeth. A very clear threat, but her uncle ignored it.

"No. You don't. Juli? You might want to fly with me, first. Josefine is too stormy, but her idea is good. It could benefit you. And we would enjoy it!" He winked at her.

Julia looked at Leopold, who nodded at her encouragingly. "Okay?"

"What?" Josefine grumbled angrily. "No! You fly with me. I'm flying slowly!"

"No way!" snorted Fiete. "You're not able to fly slowly!"

"Yes, I am!" Josefine's yellow eyes glowed. "You'll see."

"Maybe I'll practice with Fiete and ... We'll fly together later? In addition... Where should I hold on?", Julia interrupted the two fighting dragons.

"Maybe you need a saddle?", Marko suggested.

"And bridle!" Finn giggled. "Like for a horse. Only bigger. Fly, my dragon, fly!"

Fiete and Josefine both hissed indignantly.

"Do I get flying lessons too?", asked Peter, nudging Fiete with his shoulder. "Or is only Juli allowed to fly?"

"What?" Fiete blinked. "I would love to fly with you!"

"We don't want to, right, Finn?", muttered Marko. "But if you're all in the air, then we could..."

"Certainly not", Flora interrupted him immediately.

Finn chewed sheepishly on his lower lip and hid his face in Marko's clothes. "Marko!", he protested quietly.

"And cuddle!", snorted Marko. "Cuddling should be allowed!"

Agathe

The servant bowed and hurried away. Agathe had instructed her to discreetly buy a special poison. She had, of course, warned the young woman to keep silent.

No one was allowed to know about this small purchase.

Once she had the poison, she planned to silence the servant forever. No one was allowed to know about her plan or draw conclusions. No.

So it began.

Soon she also owned the kingdom of the vampires.

She sat down on an armchair in front of the fireplace in the fireplace room and closed her eyes.

Agathe was looking for Julia. But the visions she got were vague and confusing. She didn't see her daughter in any of them. Sighing, she finally gave up.
