She danced with Julia. That was fun.
In general, Josefine found the way the harpies celebrated very amusing. They danced around a huge fire, which generally appealed to the dragon girl. She loved fire. But then, she smelled something. Another black dragon.
Alarmed, she briefly kissed Julia's cheek and told her she would be back soon. Then, she hurried away, took on her dragon form, and rose into the air.
The other dragon was not very far away. Hadn't the harpies smelled them? Could they smell dragons? Josef did not know. But he would prevent another dragon from endangering Julia. And besides, this other dragon was too close.
Unlike white dragons, black dragons were very territorial. Their territory was always where they were, with a radius of several kilometers. White dragons hardly triggered this instinct in Josef, but black dragons did. He flew as fast as he could over the tall trees to a few lower mountains. There, deep in one of the many gorges, he discovered the other dragon.
'Go away!', he hissed in his thoughts. The stranger, a female, just snorted. She was about his age. Or older? He landed next to her in anger. Annoyed, he noticed that she was a little taller than him.
The other black dragon, however, did not move. 'Good evening', she replied in a bored voice.
'Do I have to repeat myself?', grumbled Josef. 'Go away or I'll attack.'
The dragon girl seemed amused. 'And if not? Kiddo? How old are you? Fifteen?'
'Seventeen! And you? Hm? Twelve?', Josef muttered annoyed. Of course, the dragon girl was older than twelve. But now, she looked at Josef with interest.
'I'm not here to fight. Although that would also be very fun. I was hungry... I hunted here and smelled you. Thought you would come. I'm bored. And I'm eighteen. Not twelve!', she snorted. 'It smells like a lot of harpies here. They might taste good.'
'Don't you dare!'
'Oh. They are your prey? Oh well... Today I will not fight you for your prey.'
Josef rolled his eyes. 'And what do you want then?'
'Fun.'
'Fun? I'm sorry, but I'm not playing with other dragons.'
'Don't you?' She fluttered her big wings and tilted her head. 'I was hoping to find a partner. A partner for the moment. This is a game you might like, isn't it.'
This suggestion, however, pleased Josef. Why shouldn't he do her the favor? Josef was curious. After all, he often watched his uncle courting Julia's brother. So, he agreed to her joyful offer.

At the end of their brief activity, she shook the feathers of her feathered wings, thanked him for the brief but fulfilling activity, and flew away. Josef liked it too. He decided to pursue this activity more often in the future.
But now, he wanted to go back to the party. Every cell of his body was screaming at him. He was too far away from Julia and he didn't like it.
