"Peter! Wait!" Julia ran after her brother.

The fifteen-year-old ran through the corridors of the castle with one of her dolls. Julia followed him angrily. She wanted her doll back!

In the morning, her father had told her at breakfast that it was not good for an eleven-year-old princess to continue playing with dolls. The nobility was gossiping about it. But Julia did not care about the opinion of the nobility.

She was now expected to fill her time with many dance lessons, further etiquette lessons, and other boring things. In protest, she had ignored her teachers and Sophie and instead played with her dolls all day. She refused to leave her room and refused to eat. Until Peter came and stole her favorite doll!

"That's my doll!", cried Julia. "Give it back!"

Peter just laughed. He was much faster than her.

„Peter!"

"But you're an adult now! You're eleven!", he exclaimed, hurrying into the garden. In the middle of the high snow.

"Peter! You idiot!", scolded Julia and followed him outside. It was freezing cold and she was wearing only a thin dress. It was warm in the castle. Therefore, she refused to wear anything appropriate for the season. Julia practiced a prepubescent rebellion.

"No! I won't!", shouted Peter, running and sliding across snow and ice until he fell down laughing. Julia threw herself on him and took her favorite doll.

"That's so mean!", she said. The doll was very pretty, with golden curls. Julia got this doll on her fourth birthday and named her Tiene.

Peter grinned. "But Dad wants you to get rid of all the dolls... I wanted to show your Tiene the outside world!"

"Dad is mean too! I'm not too old for dolls! Such nonsense!"

"I know!" Peter wrapped his arms around her and sat up. "But you can't sit in your room all day! And I can hear your stomach growling. Through all the walls I heard the deep growl of a frustrated stomach. Browwww. Browww."

"My stomach doesn't sound like that!"

"Yes. I heard it! Brooooooowwwwwww! Come on. We go to the kitchen and see if there are any cookies. Maybe we'll get some for Tiene." He winked at her.

Julia rolled her eyes. "She's a doll. She's not hungry."

"What!" Shocked, he looked at the doll. "Tiene! It seems my sister is too old to play properly with dolls! You have to move out soon!"

"Peter!" Laughing, she freed herself from his embrace. But she immediately regretted it. It was cold. Peter was also freezing.

"Cookies?", he asked again.

"All the cookies", Julia agreed.

Hand in hand, the two siblings sneaked into the kitchen and stole some freshly baked cookies. They burned their fingers on the baking tray, but they didn't care.

Laughing, they ran with their prey into Julia's room, and Peter made a magic show with all her dolls.
