Marlon

Everyone was preparing for the wedding plus the coronation, which would take place on the weekend. Guests were invited, the meal was planned... There was a lot to think about. Especially for such an important day. Marlon knew very little about this area.

He knew what was expected of him and his fiancée. That was enough. Besides, he would be king and not a wedding planner! Therefore, he stayed out of the plans, while his beautiful queen expressed her wishes emphatically. She wanted red flowers. And she wanted the throne room to be decorated with equally red banners. On the ground, in contrast to the red, white flowers should be scattered. The colors of the kingdom were neither red nor white. No. The colors of the kingdom were dark blue, black, and light yellow. Like the starry sky. Only the throne would be adorned with these colors. This was unusual, but they wanted to please the witch queen.

Marlon needed an appropriate suit, and his chosen one a wedding dress. Queen Agathe had proposed to put on her old one from her wedding to King Friedrich. Well, taking this dress would certainly have a particularly sarcastic touch, but for Marlon, it was out of the question.

No. He had called for the court seamstress and was now waiting with the beautiful queen for the vampire to appear. Agathe snorted annoyed. She was not very enthusiastic about his proposal, no, his demand.

"And she will manage to sew a suit and a dress so close to the wedding? It's only a few days", she said. "Wearing my old dress would cause an uproar, just the way I like it, but you can make changes. That saves time."

"Oh! She'll sew just for you, my dear!" Marlon grinned. "I already ordered new suits a few weeks ago. One of them just has to get changed appropriately."

"You planned ahead?"

"A bit, yes." Marlon winked proudly at her. "I'm going to be king. My father always said that a king must act with foresight." There was a knock at the door and a servant announced the seamstress. She came into the salon with her head held high and with a proud look. She bowed briefly and smiled confidently. "Your Highnesses? You called? How can I serve?"

Agathe looked at the seamstress with interest. She was tall and very slender with long orange hair and red eyes. The iris of her left eye was slightly lighter in one place. Orange.

"My dear? This is Poppy von Schneider, formerly Freirot. My mother's seamstress. She's going to sew your wedding dress", he announced with satisfaction. "And she will change one of my new suits." However, the seamstress blinked in surprise.

"It's an honor, of course, my prince, but... The wedding will take place in a few days!", she protested.

Agathe looked at Marlon with amusement. He hadn't let the seamstress get informed, why he called for her. Why should he? Sewing was her job. Why else would he have her called? He snorted impatiently. "And? Is that a problem?"

"Well... Only if Her Majesty wants something elaborate ... Of course, changes are no problem", the seamstress murmured, looking at Agathe with red cheeks. "What kind of dress do you want? And may I take your measurements? Your Majesty?" She made a fleeting curtsey and tilted her head.

"My measurements? Of course. I would like a simple dress in gold and red. Not a white dress. This is my third wedding. I wore white enough. My first dress was white, the second one had a white underskirt... I want to stand out." Agathe nodded. "Maybe some lace and some sewn-on beads or jewels. But everything very discreet. Simple, yet beautiful and striking. Can you do it?"

Poppy von Schneider nodded with a short, further curtsy. Then she looked at Marlon. "And which of the suits should I change? The black one with the red embroidery? The grey one with a tunic? Or the white one? With the silver buttons and the knee-length vest? They've all been done since this morning."
