"I just felt like it..." Raiden replies to the question Seki just asked him but dismisses the actual reason he's here. That probably wouldn't be the nicest thing for Seki to hear. But Raiden is here to get some answers, so that's what he plans to do.

They slowly start digging into the food in silence, and Raiden feels Seki's eyes on him once in a while. It's clear that the elder is pretty disturbed by his presence, but probably not in a bad way. If what Yua said is true... Seki must be really lonely.

How old is Seki? Has Raiden ever asked about that before? He probably has, just hasn't listened well. Guess that's a good place to begin.

"So... can I ask you something?" Raiden asks, taking a spoonful of food into his mouth as he awaits Seki's approval.

Seki lifts his head after having scooped up some food as well, and once he's done chewing he replies.

"Of course, what is it?"

Raiden looks at him, bringing his eyes up and down the male's face. He doesn't look a day past 20, but you can never really know with supremes. They have a very long life span and they don't age the same way humans do. They are a mutated species after all.

"How old are you?"

Seki seems a little surprised by the question, but soon enough he clears his throat and replies. It's probably not a surprising question to ask, since this is often something humans are curious about. They are often curious about the things they do not possess, such as long lifespans.

"I have lived for 6145 years," Seki states with a cautious smile, "but I stopped aging around 28 years."

Just like humans, supremes are fully evolved around 25 years old, so that's around the time when their growth stops, whereas humans quickly start to age and their bodies get more and more difficult to maintain. For supremes, this process is slow and sometimes it doesn't even happen. They can die of old age too, but you can rarely tell how old they are, since their body doesn't really age visually.

So unfair.

"6145... that's insane," Raiden replies with utter shock visible on his face. He's aware that Seki was probably pretty old, but all the supremes he has met in the past and actually allowed to talk to him haven't even been past 1000. There aren't a lot of supremes that are older than 3000 around here (according to Misaki at least), which makes Raiden even more curious about how Seki has managed to survive for so long.

Sure, the male is overly powerful, but he doesn't seem like the type to go on killing sprees and take down other supremes as a hobby. So why aren't there many other old supremes in this area?

Seki just nods at the surprised look on Raiden's face and smiles a little before they continue eating and silence once again falls between them.

Raiden isn't sure how he should approach this... should he just be stone-cold and get right to it, and try to drag some information out? Or would that make Seki seal his lips completely? Goddammit, why is this so hard to do?

"Then, can I ask you a question?" Seki suddenly asks, stopping Raiden's train of thought. The younger male lifts an eyebrow and tilts his head slightly in confusion.

"I thought you knew everything, with those powers and all," he mumbles. It's true, Seki can probably read his mind right now if he wants to, so what on earth could there be of interesting things to learn? What is there inside Raiden's head that Seki doesn't already know of?

"I can, but I choose not to," Seki says as his eyes look down at his spoon gently stirring around his food, "I feel like everyone is entitled to privacy. I know that's hard to believe, but I promise I don't know as much about you as you think."
