During the time Raiden spent conducting a background check on Seki at Shiro and Chikara's house, the weather only worsened. Now, it isn't merely raining anymore, it's pouring down with an occasional flash of lightning and rumble of thunder in the sky.
Therefore, Raiden's attempt at drying himself up with the towel was completely in vain, and to be honest... it's not exactly making his mood any brighter. Because as he finally reaches his desired destination, once again completely out of breath, he's soaked even more from sprinting back and forth between the buses and mansions.
He's tired of this shit.
And even though this tiredness is surely making his mood sour and his energy nonexistent, a part of him insist that he didn't get this far just to give up. If he doesn't confront Seki right this moment, he fears he'll never get it done.
He didn't think it would be so tough for him, but it takes balls learning the truth about someone you just started to care for. Feels like hell, actually.
It's been two days since he saw Seki, so the pact is starting to act up already, which makes all thoughts and actions on turning around and never coming back disappear. Even though it's bringing him more anxiety than appreciated at the moment, it's probably for the better.
They need to talk.
With a deep sigh that reaches the very edges of his lungs, he grabs onto the handle of the front door of the place he has come to call home.
The door creaks open, sounding a lot older and more sinister than it usually would. Most likely because of the sound of thunder than immediately emerges when Raiden is exposed to the inside of the house.
Even though he has come to know every nook and cranny of this place, it suddenly feels... foreign.
Maybe it's because the entire house is cast in darkness. Not a single artificial light has been turned on, even though it's getting darker and darker for every minute they get closer to the evening.
Raiden steps inside, the area of the doormat around his boots immediately getting drenched. The younger lifts a hand and smears it across his cheek, trying to free his skin from some of the water dripping from his hair.
In his other hand, he's holding the picture of Seki, standing surrounded by the dead bodies of his supposed comrades. Luckily, it stayed dry within Raiden's pocket, but he can already feel the droplets from his hand starting to soak into the fragile paper.
"I need the truth," Raiden speaks into the room. At first, one would think he's speaking to himself. However, as dramatic as it can seem, Seki is in the room with him.
Considering the only light that's giving Raiden any orientation within the entrance hall is coming from the small windows above the door, Seki's dark outline in the distance wasn't one to spot easily. He's hidden well in the shadows... and who knows, he might have been sitting there for hours.
But for some reason, Raiden's eyes caught sight of the other the moment he stepped in here. Seki is sitting on the stairwell, his arms resting on his knees as he's keeping his hands tightly wrapped together. His long hair is lazily falling over his shoulders - normally, it would have at least half of the strands put into an elastic, yet today... it seems Seki didn't bother pulling any of it away.
The supreme is looking at his hands, seemingly not having the guts to look up at the endear.
It's weird seeing each other again. Raiden knows he's to blame for that but... there's a lot of reasons as to why the looming conversation he's about to have is making him uncomfortable.
"I know," Seki replies. His voice is hoarse, as if he has been sick all day, leaving the endear to feel even more troubled about the whole thing.
The last few times Raiden asked Seki about this, he didn't get any answers and felt no desire aside from curiosity to pressure the issue further. But now, it's different... their relationship has reached far deeper than any of them probably expected - and are probably willing to admit - which is why Raiden is begging that Seki will open up to him this time.
