Sword Dance [HC 9 x Empires S2/ Evo] (Angst?/Drabble) {Grian & Jimmy}

Alright, before anything else, I am going to explain a bit so things actually make sense. Well, the focus of this oneshot is Listener Jimmy and Watcher Grian, but I need to go into the specifics of how the listener and watcher stuff works for both of them.

Jimmy Solidarity. Jimmy was originally a canary hybrid on evo. Him and Martyn were taken as listeners at the destruction of Evos. Jimmy regretted his decision to actually join them, and missed being a player, so he made a deal to get away. As part of this, Jimmy got to be a player, but there was always a listener that communicated through Jim's thoughts. This unnamed listener torments Jimmy, and can forcefully take control of Jimmy's body at any point. When the listener is in control of Jimmy's body, Jim feels all the pain that his body takes. Solidarity basically is an astral projection when not in control, and just has to watch from an outside perspective.

Grian. Grian was forced to be a watcher, and never fully was transformed, so he is weaker than normal watchers. Grian ran away from the watchers, and the watchers themselves don't have any control over him. The watchers gave him the new name of Xelqua. Grian is not Xelqua, but Xelqua is Grian (I know, doesn't fully make sense.) Xelqua is the watcher side of Grian, the other state of being that is still basically Grian, but his thoughts/morals are warped to those of a watcher. He has little control of when he switches into this form, and has no control over his actions when in it.

The listener hates watchers, and Xelqua hates the listeners.

Jimmy smiled, glancing around at the wonderful tumble town around him. He was definitely happy with it. He did hate the wallpaper that I certain annoying god put up though. If you hate the god so much, why not get revenge? Jimmy shook his head. He didn't want to hear the listener that just wouldn't shut up.

He just couldn't deal with it sometimes. He could never escape the voice. It hurt, ringing in his ears constantly.

The sheriff looked up to the sound of rockets, seeing someone gliding down into the canyon. He headed through the tunnel to see who it was. His eyes met the blonde locks of a certain chaotic hermit. "Grian..? What do you want now?" Jimmy wandered over, raising an eyebrow questioningly. The winged hermit turned to the law, smiling.

Winged... Jimmy was definitely confused. Grian preferred to hide his wings, but there they were, large against his back, and two small ones by his ears. The watcher... Jimmy had gotten used to the parrot patterning that normally lined his wings, but now they were a striking bright purple.

"Grian..?"

"Oh, Solidarity, what do I owe the pleasure?" Grian smiled widely at the confused Jimmy. That's when Jimmy finally saw them. Those purple eyes.

"Xelqua..."

The name fell onto deaf ears. Jimmy was going to question the watcher, but felt the loss of control. No! Don't hurt him! The green eyed sheriff smirked, extending a sword, "Xelqua, care to have a dance?" Grian nodded, pulling his sword out.

Jimmy couldn't do anything. He had no control. He could only watch as his body was used to attempt to fight his friend. Grian... Grian was his friend, not Xelqua. Xelqua was different, even if he was the same person.

Xelqua swiped up the sheriff's sword going flying. The listener, in response, grabbed at Grian's sword, blade digging into its hand. The listener didn't feel the pain. Jimmy felt it. He felt every painful swing. Grian's blade clinked to the ground, the god-like beings both left weaponless. The watcher jumped at the other, wings spread out defensively. Jumping back, the listener released Jimmy's wings. Large golden, the tips a bright green to match the listener-controlled-Jimmy's eyes.
