Hyunjin Pov:

"Okay, ready? Pose."

Click.

"Ready. Pose."

Click.

I struck another pose as the camera continued to take photos. Behind the photographer, Minghao stood with a satisfied expression on his handsome face. After the shoot was done I headed over to my uncle for a change of clothes.

"You're doing well, Hyunjin. It's going great thanks to you!" Minghao smiled as I reappeared in a new outfit ready for another set of pictures.

"Please. I'm just a model. It's you who created the clothes!" I replied with a grin.

"I really have to thank you for your time, dear. I'm sure it's tiring with school, dance practice and competitions. It really means a lot to me that you would spend 4+ hours modeling."

I shrugged.

"Hey. It's fun! No worries."

"Moon Hyunjin?" A stylist called out from behind the crew.

"Oh crap. Looks like I gotta go get my makeup redone." I sighed, giving an apologetic look to Minghao.

"No worries. After this how about I take you out for a hamburger?"

I gave a big thumbs up as a response.

"Perfect. Now chop chop, work's not going to be done by just standing around!" Minghao chuckled.

"Yessir."

Hours later:

"Good god child has Jun not been feeding you?" Minghao asked, watching me scarf down burgers, nuggets, and fries like it was nothing.

"Dunno, I'm hungry. By the way, how did you find such a good burger place anyway? My parents never take me here and yet it's so close to our house!" I answered.

The Chinese male smiled wistfully.

"When I was a trainee I used to go here with some of my friends, including a guy named Wonwoo. He loved this place-'

Minghao suddenly froze.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Um nothing."

I shrugged. If Minghao didn't want to share it wasn't my business to pry.

"Speaking of trainees, I've been meaning to tell you something." I spoke, wiping my mouth.

"What is it?" The male asked.

"So. . . during school you know that guy Yeonjun?"

"Yes. A bit of a hate love relationship with him, yeah?"

"What? No! Ugh. Maybe." I groaned.

"Anyway, apparently there's a new entertainment company called Pledis, who's holding auditions tomorrow and Yeonjun thinks I should go and give it a shot despite not knowing how to sing at all. What do you think?"

Minghao smiled.

"I think you should go!"

"Really? Oh yeah and Yeonjun mentioned that the CEO of Pledis is the former leader of a group that disappeared years ago. I think the name was Seventeen or something like that?"

With those words Minghao's smile widened.

"Is that so?"

"Yeah. By the way, weren't you and Dad part of a boy group?" I asked.

"Indeed we were."

"What was it called?"

"Not really that important now that we're both ex members now is it?" Minghao shrugged.

I frowned. Why had he avoided the question?

"Now back to what's important. I totally think that you should audition for Pledis." Minghao pressed.

"Are you sure? No one knows anything about this company except it was worth enough for Hybe to buy the darn place. Shouldn't I audition for more well known companies like JYP, SM, or YG?"

"No need. I have complete faith that you should go for this one." Minghao continued.

"Do you know the CEO or something?" I scoffed.

"You could say that." Minghao replied calmly.

"Fine. I'll do it.

"Good." The male smiled.

I stood.

"We should probably get going, it's a school night after all." I sighed.

Minghao nodded and followed me to his car. As we prepared to leave, Minghao suddenly spoke.

"Hey Hyunjin?"

"Hmm?"

"Keep this little audition thing a secret from your parents, okay?"

"Huh? Why?"

"They won't support you in this endeavor. Trust me."

I frowned.

"But Mom was really excited when I told her about the clip of me dancing went viral. . ."

"Hyunjin. Promise me."

"Fine."

"Good girl."

I cringed at the praise but decided to ignore it for now. After all Minghao was a good man with pure intentions, right?
