Hyunjin Pov.
Things had gotten really busy since I started becoming a full on trainee. I woke up at 5:00 AM and practiced dancing till 8:00 AM where I had breakfast, 1 apple. Then from 8:30-3:30 PM I attended school with Eunchae and Yeonjun. Afterschool I would do vocal lessons from 3:45-6:45 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday while rap lessons took place on Tuesday and Thursday. Dinner was at 7 consisting of a sweet potato, 1 chicken breast, and protein/berry shake. From 7:30-11:30 PM I practiced my dance skills only going to bed around midnight. The weekends offered no rest either. Instead trainees spent both days honing their skills, trying their best to be prepared for the dreaded monthly evaluation.
I glanced at my watch. 2:25 PM. Five minutes till I had a meeting with the most intimidating trainer of all. . . the man trainees called Woozi. Despite the cute name there were several rumors that had spread among the trainees. "Don't call him short or he'll hit you with his guitar!" Kazuha had commented a few days prior. "Yeah no shit, he'll roast the heck out of you while he's kicking your ass too." Yunjin added when I told her that I was scheduled to meet him earlier that day.
I gulped and walked down the hallways till I arrived at his private studio. Three loud knocks later, and I heard a "Come in." When I opened the man, I saw a small male with shortcut hair, wearing an all black outfit and slippers working hard on music on a computer screen. The funniest thing though was the fact that Woozi was wearing an astronaut's helmet complete with a blue visor.
"Uh, Woozi?" I called out carefully, trying not to rile up the older male.
"Hmm? Oh yeah Hyunjin right? Come on in."
I complied and entered the studio, taking a seat next to the man.
"So what are we doing? Vocals? Rap?" I asked, while watching Woozi continue to fiddle around with music programs.
"Neither. Hyunjin, have you ever written songs before?" Woozi finally answered.
I shook my head.
"Well I'm sure you've written some poetry. Writing lyrics is a form of poetry, or telling of a story just with elements of rhyme and rhythms. Got it?"
"Yessir."
"Call me Jihoon."
"Huh?"
"My real name. You should probably call me Woozi while out in public, but here in the studio when it's just you and me it's fine to call me Jihoon."
I nodded.
Woozi then removed a pad of paper and a pen before handing them to me.
"Your task today is to write a song. Use personal events, feelings, or relationships to inspire your lyrics."
"Okay. How long do I have?" I asked.
"Until you finish. You will not leave this studio unless I approve of the song, got it?"
I gulped. I was so fucked.
"Hyunjin? Am I clear?"
"Yes Jihoon." I replied.
"Good. Get to work."
I glanced down and let out a deep sigh. How the hell was I going to do this? Think Hyunjin! Think! I thought to myself. Personal events. . . well there was school, Karina and her gang, and whatever the fuck was happening between Minghao and my parents. What else? I bit my lip. My lips. My mind immediately became flooded with memories of Yeonjun and our first date. Our first kiss. The beginning of our romantic relationship.
"Hyunjin?" I heard Woozi address me.
"Yes?"
"Is everything alright? You look like you were spacing out for a second."
