Chapter 36

Hyunjin Pov:

We all fell out of the wardrobe with a loud oof. I turned and heard a loud roar coming from behind the portal behind us.

"HYUNJIN! GIVE HIM BACK TO ME!" The Entity snarled, a long spider-like leg reaching out towards me.

"Fuck someone close the door!" my mother yelled.

"I got it!" Mingyu leapt up and slammed the wardrobe's door shut.

I watched as the door shuddered as the Entity tried violently to open it but to no avail. After a nerve wracking couple of minutes the banging stopped and we all let out a sigh of relief. That was sadly broken when Yeonjun began yelling at me.

"Moon Hyunjin, what the hell were you thinking? Dragging Minghao out with us."

"You brought Minghao?" Seungkwan shrieked.

I sighed.

"Yes I did, speaking of which where is he?"

"Over here." Sunghoon replied.

I glanced at where my friend was and saw him pointing to Minghao, who was slumped next to the bed. Hoshi walked over and gently turned the male's bloodsoaked head.

"Um, is he dead?" Eunchae asked tentatively.

"No, but he's barely alive." Hoshi answered.

"What happened to him anyway?" Jun inquired.

I quickly explained the black blood, and what the Entity had told us.

"Possession huh? Dammit. I should have known." Seungcheol cursed.

"We should probably take him to the hospital." Jeonghan suggested.

"Yeah. Let's go. I'll call Jaemin." My mother sighed.

A few minutes later: Jaemin Pov:

"Doctor Na? You have a phone call request for you." Miyeon stated as she entered my office.

I nodded and followed her to the front desk and accepted the phone.

"Hello? Jaemin?"

My eyes widened.

"Aera? Is that you?"

"Yes. It is."

"Oh my god! You're okay? Are you hurt?"

"No, but I do have someone we need you to heal."

"Who? Jun?"

"No. Minghao."

I froze.

"Excuse me? Did I hear you wrong?"

"No. I need you to save Minghao's life."

"Why? You do know he tried to kill my wife right?" I spat.

"Listen, I can explain to you later, but can you save him or not?"

"Fine. bring him to me."

Aera Pov:

A few hours later Jaemin came out of the surgery room, a clipboard in his hand.

"How's Minghao?" Hyunjin asked.

"Well I have good news and bad news." The male replied.

"Give us the good news first." Chan requested.

"The good news is that he's alive."

"Okay, and the bad news?"

"Minghao had an overall blood loss of 35%. 5% more and he would have been dead. With all that said, he's in a coma."

There was silence.

"He's in a coma?" Mingyu stammered.

"Yes."

"Dammit. Minghao didn't deserve this." Seungcheol sighed.

"Can someone please explain to me why y'all are caring about this man?" Jaemin snapped.

I glanced at my husband before speaking.

"You remember the Entity right?" I asked.

"Yeah?"

"It happens rarely, but occasionally the Entity chooses to possess survivors or killers. When that happens the target usually gets some sort of boost of power but with the cost of a personality change. However these possessions are worth it as usually the Entity just ends up killing the hosts when he's finished with them."

"So the Minghao that was trying to kill you, kill Haewon, and kidnap Hyunjin wasn't Minghao? That was the Entity?" Jaemin breathed.

"Correct."

"Poor Minghao. I wonder how he's feeling?" Hyunjin murmured.

"You'll have to wait till he wakes up, I guess." The doctor shrugged.

I nodded.

"I think it's time we go home. Sunghoon, Eunchae, and Yeonjun, why don't Jun and I take you three to our home?" I suggested.

"Oh, sure, thanks." Yeonjun nodded.

I shook hands with Seungcheol and thanked the male for coming to my rescue along with the rest of Seventeen. After that, we split up, each returning to their own home. Jun called an Uber, and we headed back to our apartment.

Hyunjin Pov:

I sighed and sucked on my popsicle, while staring up at the stars. A few minutes later, my friends joined me on the balcony.

"It's all over, huh?" Yeonjun remarked, taking a sip from his slurpee.

"Yeah. Hard to believe that the whole Rift stuff is all done." Sunghoon added.

"So what are we going to do?" Eunchae asked.

"Return to idol life?" I suggested.

"Hell no. At least not right away. I'm going on a temporary hiatus." my boyfriend groaned.

"Relatable." I chuckled.

"Well, we're alive at least." Eunchae sighed.

"True. Are you guys planning on visiting Minghao when he wakes up?" I suddenly asked.

"Honestly, yeah." Sunghoon replied.

"Really?" Eunchae gasped.

"Yeah, the poor guy got used by the Entity, it wouldn't be fair to abandon him when he's at his most vulnerable."

I nodded.

"How about we all visit him together?" I suggested.

"That sounds like a good plan." Yeonjun smiled.

"Well, I'm feeling tired, I think I'll head to bed." Yeonjun yawned.

"Eunchae and I'll be in my room, Yeonjun and Sunghoon you two will take the living room." I directed.

"Okay then. Good night Hyunjin." My boyfriend winked.

"Good night, Yeonjun."
