Chapter 16

Hyunjin Pov:

"Welcome back Hyunjin!" Eunchae shouted, jumping onto me as I entered the school hallway.

"Hi hi hi!" I smiled, patting my best friend's back.

After much discussion with the teachers, my parents had decided to allow me to go back to school in person which I was more than happy to oblige, one reason being that I was sick of being stuck there without any access to technology and the other reason being that I could see Eunchae and. . .

"Oh. You're back."

I groaned when I saw Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning eyeing me up from a few feet away.

"I was hoping you'd been run over by a truck." Winter snickered.

"Cute insult, dude." I rolled my eyes.

"I was hoping that you would be dead in a ditch." Ningning snarled.

"Oh come on you four. Hyunjin just got back, and you immediately rush to throw insults at her? What's wrong with you?" Eunchae snapped.

"Shut up you bitch!" Giselle yelled.

"Ladies. What's going on here?"

I jumped as I felt a strong arm over my shoulder. Immediately Karina put on an innocent puppy dog face, and I glanced up to see Yeonjun, protectively holding me close to him.

"Yeonjun! Nothings happening! We were just talking! Right Hyunjin?" The female looked at me, with eyes that just screamed, 'agree with me alright you bitch?'

"Well babe. Were you just talking?" Yeonjun stared at me.

I chuckled as I saw Karina's face pale.

"Babe?"

"Yep. Hyunjin here is my girlfriend." Yeonjun announced.

"What? That can't be. . ." GIselle muttered.

"And I would appreciate it if you four didn't insult my partner. Shall we head to class?' Yeonjun glanced between me and Eunchae.

"Sure! Let's go." I replied.

The three of us left, leaving Karina and her friends trembling with rage.

During the lunch period, Eunchae finally addressed Yeonjun and I with an important question.

"How was your first date?" She asked.

I giggled nervously as Yeonjun rubbed the back of his neck, stalling for time.

"Well. . . I had a great time! How about you Hyunjin?" Yeonjun chuckled.

"It was simply magical. He took me out to the Seoul fairground!" I replied, squeezing my boyfriend's hand reassuringly.

"Ooooh! Did you two kiss?" Eunchae squealed.

"Ahem."

The three of us glanced up to see a disgruntled Ningning staring down at us. I grinned wickedly, and slipped my arm around Yeonjun's waist before replying,

"About that kiss? Yes we did." And with that I captured Yeonjun's lips onto mine.

I heard an aww from Eunchae and a loud "Whatever!" from Ningning before the girl angrily stomped off.

"Possessive one aren't ya?" Yeonjun snickered as we watched her leave.

"Well now that I know girls want to steal you, I gotta make it clear who you belong to don't I?" I replied coolly, taking a swig of water.

Yeonjun smiled gently before moving some of my hair behind my ear.

"Don't worry. I'm all yours."

After School:

"Ugh. I can't believe that I have 3 essays due in two days." Eunchae groaned as we left school.

"Ha, I have a biology test on Friday." Yeonjun added.

"You think that's bad? I have a chemistry test, Algebra test, and a civics test tomorrow." I grumbled.

"How about we all go to the Kangaroo? Chris or Felix will probably give us some free treats." I suggested.

My friends nodded, and we quickly made our way to the popular cafe. When we entered, Eunchae immediately poked my arm and pointed to a table in the back.

"Hey, isn't that your parents?"

I frowned.

"You're right. Who are they with?"

"Looks like Jeonghan and Minghao." Yeonjun commented.

"Should we spy on them?" I asked.

"Totally!" Eunchae grinned mischievously.

Being careful not to catch the four adult's attention, the three of us tiptoed to a booth nearby and sat down before trying to catch what they were saying.

"No! No! I will not accept this!" Jun shouted.

"Jun. It says right here in the contract. Hyunjin must continue trainee life unless the signed guardian or parent pulls them out. And the signed guardian here is Minghao." Jeonghan answered.

There was a pause. Before suddenly Aera burst into tears.

"Minghao. How could you? You know the trauma I have with the Seventeen members! Why would you sign my daughter to be near them?"

"I'm sorry Aera. But I will not pull out Hyunjin from Pledis."

"And why the fuck not?" Jun growled.

"I won't say." Minghao replied.

"What the hell-"

"Well Jun since I've made it so clear, Hyunjin will now begin full trainee life and live at the dorms with Eunchae. Minghao has already brought in her luggage." Jeonghan stated firmly to what I could only presume was my distraught parents.

"Minghao. Please. I'm begging you. Pull her out of this please!" My mother pleaded.

"No." Minghao answered.

There was silence. Then Jun finally spoke with an icy tone.

"Xu Minghao. You are no longer welcome as my friend. I don't want to speak to you ever again. Do not step anywhere near my house and never interact with Hyunjin again. Am I clear?"

"Sure." Minghao replied.

"That's it? I thought we were like brothers Minghao. I'm disappointed. Goodbye."

With that Eunchae, Yeonjun and I watched as my parents left the cafe.

"Well that was some hot tea." Yeonjun commented after the duo left.

"Certainly was. What were we here for again?" Eunchae added.

"Homework, I think?" Yeonjun answered, cracking a grin.

"Hyunjin."

I jumped and turned to see Minghao standing alongside Jeonghan by our booth.

"Oh! Hi! Uh we weren't listening or anything." I stuttered.

"That's not an issue, c'mon Jeonghan will take you three to go back to your companies."

"What about school?" I asked, confused.

"You're on a new schedule. Welcome to full trainee life." Jeonghan smiled.

I glanced at my friends before following the two adults to Jeonghan's car.

"What about you, Minghao? Aren't you coming?" I inquired after Yeonjun and Eunchae had buckled in.

"I have a fashion meeting in 15 minutes. I'll call you later, okay?"

I nodded and watched as the man disappeared as the car began its drive to the Pledis building. Something was up. I didn't know what was going on between Minghao and my parents, but by golly I was going to find out.
