Hyunjin Pov:

"I can't believe you two idiots convinced me to do this audition." I grumbled sitting next to Eunchae and Yeonjun.

"Now that's not very nice, Hyunjin." Yeonjun smirked.

"Oh shut up, you asshole!" I shot back.

"Come on, this is just so exciting! We have all a shot at stardom! At least show some positive reaction, Hyunjin!" Eunchae pleaded.

I rolled my eyes. Just as I was about to speak again a male voice suddenly spoke from the loudspeaker.

"Number 15? Please come to the back."

Eunchae leapt up and gave a nervous glance before heading towards the audition room.

"Eunchae fighting!" I yelled after the girl.

Minutes passed and suddenly Yeonjun was called. I sighed and took a deep breath. Why was I so nervous? It wasn't like I had trained all my life to become an idol or anything.

"Number 17?"

I jumped. It was time. I walked past the crowd of other auditioning people into the back and entered what seemed to be a dance room where three men were seated at a table towards one end of the area. I quickly read their name tags which read as Mr. Boo, Mr. Yoon, and Mr. Choi. The one who's name was Mr. Yoon smiled when he saw me and beckoned for me to come forward.

"Hello there

"Hello there. Please come up. What's your name?"

"Moon Hyunjin."

I frowned when I saw Mr Boo tense up. Mr Choi's eyes had also narrowed before relaxing once more.

"I see. Age?"

"16. "

"And what will you be showing us today?"

"Dance."

"Alright then.Go ahead when you're ready."

I swallowed and prepared myself before starting.

When I finished, I looked up to see the three men whispering to each other and writing notes down. After a few tense moments, Mr. Yoon looked up to address me.

"Is there anything else you can show us? Perhaps some singing or rapping?"

I shook my head. There was no way in hell I was singing.

"How about this? You know the national anthem right?" Mr. Boo asked.

I nodded.

"Can you sing that for us?" Mr. Boo pressed.

I sighed.

"I guess."

Against my fears I managed to timidly sing the national anthem. When I finished the three men smiled and nodded before scribbling something on the sheets before them.

"Thank you Hyunjin. We'll reach out to you soon."

I nodded and left the room, happy to be done. When I got outside of Pledis I found Yeonjun and Eunchae already there, waiting for me with a scoop of cookie dough ice scream in their hands.

"Hyunjin!" Eunchae exclaimed when she saw me.

"How was it?" Yeonjun asked.

"Awful." I groaned, accepting the frozen treat from the boy's hand.

"Come now, it couldn't have been that bad."

"They made me sing." I grumbled.

"What? I thought you didn't prepare any songs?" Eunchae gasped.

"I had to sing the national anthem, my god it was mortifying." I groaned.

"Tsk. Well you got it over and done at least." Yeonjun snickered.

"I guess. What did you two audition with?" I asked.

"I just danced. Just like you." Eunchae stated.

"They didn't make you sing?" I yelped.

"Nope."

"Goddammit. What about you Yeonjun?"

"Calling me by name, hmm? That's nicer than an asshole." Yeonjun grinned.

"Don't push it."

"I danced as well and sung BTS's Boy In Love." Yeonjun responded.

"Damn. You're really serious about this." Eunchae remarked.

"Yeah seriously, care to show us a bit?" I requested.

To my surprise the boy began to sing, his clear voice ringing in my ears. I gasped. He was good. Like stupid good.

"What do you think?" Yeonjun asked after he was finished.

"That was. . . actually really good." I breathed.

Yeonjun smiled and wrapped me into a hug.

"I'm glad you're happy!" He whispered close to my ear.

I felt my face burning up and shoved the male off of me.

"Ack. Stop being so cheesy!"

Yeonjun chuckled.

"Cute."

"What? I'm not cute-"

"Hey, isn't that Minghao?" I heard Eunchae comment.

I turned and saw the Chinese male emerging from a car wearing a silk shirt, black pants, and sunglasses heading into the building.

"What's he doing?" Eunchae asked.

"Does he know some of the employees or something?" Yeonjun added.

I shrugged.

"Dunno-"

"Wait, he's shaking hands with Mr. Yoon!" Eunchae squeaked.

I glanced over to see the two males embracing each other and smiling before parting ways. The three of us watched as Minghao left the building and walked back towards his car. I then looked at Eunchae and Yeonjun before grabbing my backpack and heading down to my Uncle.

"Hyunjin, wait what are you doing?" Yeonjun yelled after me.

"Going home, pretty boy."

"Are you sure?" He continued.

"Yes. I'll be fine."

I waved to the duo and continued my trek to the vehicle. When I arrived, I gently tapped my knuckles on the car window. Minghao rolled down the pane, a gentle smile adorning his face.

"Hey kiddo. Hop in!"

I entered, and sighed as I buckled myself in .

"How was it?"

"Fine."

"As long as you did your best, I'm proud." Minghao replied.

"Hey Minghao?" I piped up.

"Yeah?"

"So Yeonjun, Eunchae and I saw you talking with one of the trainers. Do you know him?"

"Yes. I do know him."

"How?" I questioned.

"You could say he's an old friend of mine."
