An unlikely ally...?

(M) Sabre POV:

I could hear the wind rushing past me as I flew backwards, shock stopping me from halting my abrupt, involuntary flight. Quickly, my surprise dispersed, and I touched down to the ground, skidding slightly as I did so. The sudden stop left a slight mark on the dirt I had landed on, but I paid it no mind. The only thing I could think about was my fury. How dare she stop me! How did she even catch me off guard like that?!

I felt energy spark around me, its power focusing on two of my fingers. I focused my thoughts, searching for Dopple's trace. Chances were that she was far from where I had left her; she was probably hiding somewhere. The moment I felt her energy, I snapped my fingers, and lightning engulfed me. Why teleport silently when I can strike fear into her heart with just my entrance? I thought to myself with a vengeful smirk.

My scenery soon changed to... a house in the woods? It looked somewhat sloppy, seeing as it wasn't quite symmetrical, and its bright, rainbow colors were an eyesore. To my annoyance, Dopple was nowhere to be found. Instead, I saw a similar, but definitely not the same, person; just a few blocks away from me was a very nervous and frantic Gänger.

"M?" She whirled around to face me, then sighed. "Oh. It's just you."

Gänger crossed her arms, giving an annoyed, unimpressed look. I did the same, returning her angry expression.

"I could say the same to you. Tell me where your sister is now, and I might not have to destroy you personally."

She rolled her eyes, giving an exasperated scoff. "Can't really help you there, bucko. Besides, I'm kinda busy at the moment."

I raised an eyebrow at this. ...Does she not know where her own sister is? Also, 'bucko'? And what could she possibly be doing? She's just standing out in the middle of the front yard of this house. She's not even doing anything!

"Oh really? I don't think standing around for no reason counts as 'being busy'," I retorted with slight annoyance.

She rolled her eyes once more. "Well, I'm trying to look for someone. But, seeing as you're wearing a blindfold, I doubt you can help me."

Her response, though annoying, was somewhat amusing. To think that having trouble looking for someone in a painfully open area was more important than not being destroyed struck me as ignorant. Perhaps she doesn't see me as a threat... I'll have to change that.

"...So, off topic question, but have you seen M?"

I flinched, then mentally scolded myself for doing so. Questions rushed through my mind, but I refused to voice them aloud. She's looking for M? How does she know him? Is he missing? The thought that plagued my mind the most was the thought I hated myself the most for. Is he okay? I instantly tried to shove that thought away. No, I can't think about that. I don't care if he's okay or not.

...Or do I?

"I have not," I answered with a forced civility. I had to know if he was in danger or not, otherwise that question would never leave my mind. It bothered me that I was worried about him, so I decided that making sure he wasn't in danger would be the best way to stop worrying. After all, only the weak worry and care about others.

"Uhm... W-well..."

"What is it? Spit it out."

"He may have.. kinda..." Gänger hesitated before answering, and my thoughts swirled once more.

"'He kinda' what?"

"...Got kidnapped?"

My eyes widened beneath my blindfold, and an instinct I had never experienced kicked in. My thoughts and emotions overpowered my logic, and I could no longer control my actions. Abruptly, I stepped towards Gänger, grabbed her arm, and, without warning, teleported her with me towards M's trace. I could barely register her yelp of surprise as lightning engulfed the both of us.

We soon arrived at a sheer, stony cliff, and I immediately let go of Gänger. She stepped back in astonishment, taking in our surroundings. My gaze darted along the cliff for any clues, and it immediately stopped on a lone poppy along its wall. Walking up to the poppy, I scanned the cliff's wall for any abnormalities. It only took me moments to notice a slight gap in the rock, so subtle that it was almost invisible.

I then took a few steps back, raised my hand at the wall, and sent a single blast of energy at the gap. Gänger flinched at the sound of the explosion, and I noticed that she had ended up putting me between herself and the now broken wall. More afraid of a crumbling wall than the most lethal being in the universe? She certainly is strange.

When the dust settled, an entrance to a maze-tunnel system was revealed. Echoing off the walls of the tunnel was the sound of a shrill siren. Fools. Starting an alarm will only make it easier for me to get through this labyrinth. With the flick of a hand, I gestured for Gänger to follow me, and I made my way through the tunnels, following the sounds of the alarm.

I came to a halt when, in front of me, a large, iron door blocked my path. I knew instantly that it was locked, of course, and didn't even bother with the handle. Instead, focusing my energy in my now-curled fist, I gave the door a single punch, sending it flying to the wall on the other side of the room I was trying to reach.

A few shouts of panic could be heard as I stepped into the room, partially hidden by the cloud of dust that had risen from my attack on the door. There were three people, and, to my annoying relief, one of them was M. Without hesitation, I immediately sent blasts of energy at the other two people in the room, both of them Red Steves. They went flying backwards, hitting the stone walls behind them with such power that the rock wall cracked slightly at the impact. They slumped to the floor, though whether they were unconscious or dead, I wasn't sure. I didn't quite care, either. I was here for one reason, and one reason only.

Gänger will get him out of here. It's high-time I left. With a snap of two of my fingers, I teleported silently away, though M would probably be unaware that I was there in the first place, as I had still been hidden in the cloud of dust. It's better that no one else knows that I was here. As far as they're concerned, I never set foot in this place, and I never helped Gänger rescue M. It's better this way...
