[ C H A P T E R 27 ]

LATISHA VALENTINE

We were welcomed by a large number of men in black robes and masks. Magkasama si Roshan, Nethys, at Erwan nang makita nila ako. I was informed that Commander Cyan is at the north, while Vice-Commander Hasan looked through the south. If I didn't meet the Duke, they might never know that Annika is in the center of Edinburgh.

Mabilis na humarang si Nethys para paslangin ang mga umatake sa amin. I was supposed to unsheath my sword when Roshan pushed it back. I glared at him with my overflowing annoyance and he didn't even waver. Hindi din siya nagsalita pero ramdam na ramdam ko ang pinahiwatig niya. Nagulat ako ng bigla niya akong pinatalikod. I flinched when a cloth covered my eyes, and Roshan's gloved hands hit my hair.

Napaigtad naman ako ng maramdaman ko ang hininga niya sa aking kanang tainga. "After all of this, I want an honest and truthful explanation, or else I will punish you."

Napangisi naman ako. "Anong parusa naman kapag nagsinungaling ako? Will you lock me in my room aforever? Will you chain me so I cannot go out and escape?"

I felt Roshan's hand circling on my waist and turning my body over the direction where I could hear men grunting. Nararamdaman ko ang malapad niyang likod sa akin at nakikiliti ako sa hininga niya sa aking tainga, pero nanatili akong kalmado.

"I will chain you," he said and I was about to counterfeit it when what came after his mouth made me totally astounded. "In bed, while moaning my name, Latisha."

Siniko ko siya dahil sa inis pero naging dahilan 'yon para mawala ang presensya niya. Hindi mahilig magsalita si Roshan kaya hindi ko mahanap ang boses niya. Marami rin akong naririnig na mga yabag kaya mahirap kilalanin kung kaninong yabag ang kanya. Napamura na lamang ako nang may umatake sa akin.

What the fuck did I just heard from him?!

I used my senses to protect myself. Hindi ko na kilala kung sino-sino ang napapaslang ko dahil wala naman akong nakikita. I am also confident that I am not hitting Erwan or Nethys because I will recognize their voices. Isa pa, hinahanap ko rin si Roshan dahil hindi ko lang siya sasakalin, tatadyakan ko ang hinayupak na 'yon.

I can't see properly but I can see light. The tower is full of lights from every corner and it is the only tower here. Tinakbo ko ang pamilyar na daan kahit may nakaharang sa aking mga mata. I always visit this place with Blessime because we loved seeing the borders of Edinburgh from there.

Sa taas rin kami laging nag-uusap ni Blessime tungkol sa mga bagay na gusto naming makamit. We always race towards the top floor before the clock system, and whoever won must return back to buy a bagel. Because of this, I missed that bitch.

Mabilis kong nagalaw ang aking espada ng may nararamdaman akong tao. I aimed it at whoever's neck but it got waved by someone's hand. Though, not just someone's hand rather a familiar presence stood just a meter away from me.

"Have you ever had that habit of pissing me off?" tanong ko kay Roshan nang iharap ko ang sarili ko sa kanya. I cannot take the risk of taking my mask off, because who knows there could be someone else's blood I see rather than his.

"She is not here," he said.

Umiling ako. "Did you check the clock?"

"It's blocked," he replied.
